1. In "Transformers," there was this giant battle in the middle of downtown Los Angeles -- excuse me, Mission City -- that was witnessed by thousands of people at the very least. But somehow the government was able to cover up the whole thing, and now the existence of alien robots is just an internet rumor? How did they do it? Pay off everyone who was there and quickly fix millions of dollars in damage? Also, didn't Keller (Jon Voight) go on TV and tell everyone we were being attacked by "a technological civilization far superior to our own"? How did they spin that?

Shia LaBeouf 2. There are two pieces of the Allspark cube left: the military has one under lock and key, and Sam discovers another. The Decepticons steal one and bring Megatron back to life. But when Sam (Shia LaBeouf) wants to bring back Optimus, he has to find the Matrix of Leadership on the other side of the globe. Why not use the other piece? Mikaela (Megan Fox) has it in her backpack the whole time. It brought his kitchen appliances to life, why can't it do the same for Optimus?

3. Speaking of Megatron's rebirth, when the Decepticons venture deep into the ocean to revive him, the Navy crew tracking them reads five contacts. When they get down there, they tear apart one of the robots for parts to rebuild Megatron. Then as they rise to the surface, the same Navy guys say they spot six contacts. The little "Doctor" robot popped out down there, but he's about a third of the size of a person. Would he have shown up on sonar?

Shia LaBeouf 4. That reminds me: even if I were to forgive the Doctor's German accent -- and director Michael Bay is asking me to forgive a lot of ridiculous accents -- why would a robot need glasses? He has little lenses that flip in front of his mechanical eyes. Couldn't he just get his eyes adjusted? You'd think with all the laser guns, someone could perform a Lasik procedure.

5. Apparently, Transformers can look like people now. How? And how is it that even though the robo-girl (Isabel Lucas) is made of metal, she can still straddle Sam without crushing him. And if Bumblebee knows something's wrong with her, why does he spit antifreeze at her instead of telling Sam? Yes, his voicebox is broken, but wasn't it fixed at the end of the last movie?

Megan Fox 6. The Fallen is the last of the Primes, since they all sacrificed themselves to stop him from destroying the sun. But then he says that Optimus is a descendant of the Primes. First, Transformers have kids? And second, how could he descend from them if they were all dead? And if the Fallen could only be destroyed by a Prime, why didn't the originals just gang up on him back in the day? And what makes Optimus so special, anyway? Megatron beat him earlier, but all it takes is a few spare parts from creaky old Jetfire for him to take out the Fallen?

7. Sam, Mikaela, and Simmons (John Turturro) go to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C. to find Jetfire. Then they walk out the back onto a wide open field with old planes and mountains in the distance. When did the National Mall start to look so much like to Tucson, AZ (where they really filmed that scene)?

Megan Fox 8. The geography is just as bad when they go to Egypt. The stone city of Petra in Jordan is over 250 miles away, over mountainous terrain, with few paved roads and the Israeli border between them, so how can they drive from one to the other in a couple of hours. And the Pyramids are said to be shooting distance from the Mediterranean, but they are actually well over 80 miles inland. Even if the Navy ship had a secret rail gun, and even if the captain would take an order to fire from a former agent of a government branch that no longer exists (over a walkie-talkie that inexplicably starts working again), how could it hit a moving target from that distance?

9. Sam briefly dies and goes to Robot Heaven. Robot Heaven?!?!

Megan Fox 10. Where does Sam's bandage come from? What about his extra sock? Why does Sam's roommate not contribute anything at all? What was the Fallen doing for those thousands of years Megatron was frozen in ice? How does one satellite receive transmissions from everywhere on the planet? Why does Wheelie hump Mikaela's leg? Why do we have to see John Turturro's thong? Why are robots who join together to become Devastator also seen fighting the Army at the same time? Why does the government want only our military fighting Decepticons when our weapons seem unable to make so much as a dent on any of them? Why did the ancient Egyptians build a pyramid around the sun-destroying machines instead of just breaking it? Why is the Matrix of Leadership bigger in the Fallen's hand than in Sam's? And how do Mikaela's pants stay so clean?

Is this supposed to say "potholes", or "plotholes"?

Because a lot of these things are stupid or convenient, but not plotholes.

let me change it lol

We have enough plot hole threads.

I think it's more like a pothole, a big one, cause when you hit them yer like what the heck was that!!???!!

It's Bay, it's senseless, but it was still a fun ride, that's all Bay cares about, the man didn't care about continuity from one movie to the next.

Let's see...

Yes. Remember Sam's dad. He said Judy not to tell anything so the government would give rebuild their house.

Also, didn't Keller (Jon Voight) go on TV and tell everyone we were being attacked by "a technological civilization far superior to our own"? How did they spin that?
That wasn't in the movie.

I believe so, yes.

Those are doctor googles.

Alice scanned an "Alice in Wonderland" animatronic doll. And she's not that heavy (I'd say she's a little chubbier than Ravage's drone). Bumblebee doesn't know something's wrong with her. He just doesn't want Sam to cheat on Mikaela. And he's not completelly fixed. "He's still having voice problems".

Megan Fox 6. The Fallen is the last of the Primes, since they all sacrificed themselves to stop him from destroying the sun. But then he says that Optimus is a descendant of the Primes. First, Transformers have kids? And second, how could he descend from them if they were all dead?
Jetfire's comments about his family? Hatchlings on Mars?

And if the Fallen could only be destroyed by a Prime, why didn't the originals just gang up on him back in the day? And what makes Optimus so special, anyway? Megatron beat him earlier, but all it takes is a few spare parts from creaky old Jetfire for him to take out the Fallen?
The Fallen was at full power and had the Seekers by his side. Prime is a Prime :-)hehe:), but he's not invencible. He can be beaten. And he had new weapons and a Seeker's spark united to his damaged one. He got powered up.

The SmithSonian Museum had an airplane graveyard. It's a movie.

It's a movie!

Even if the Navy ship had a secret rail gun, and even if the captain would take an order to fire from a former agent of a government branch that no longer exists (over a walkie-talkie that inexplicably starts working again), how could it hit a moving target from that distance?
The habillities of the Rail Gun weren't explicited. Besides, Simmons knew it existed and the government knew about Sector Seven. And the walkie-talkie was outside Starscream's EMP hit area, I believe.

9. Sam briefly dies and goes to Robot Heaven. Robot Heaven?!?!
We see the Dust get in contact with him. That's why.

Megan Fox 10. Where does Sam's bandage come from?
A napkin? A shock? A piece of clothing?

What about his extra sock?
How can we know it wasn't one of his socks?

Why does Sam's roommate not contribute anything at all?
He led them to Simmons.

What was the Fallen doing for those thousands of years Megatron was frozen in ice?
Waited?

How does one satellite receive transmissions from everywhere on the planet?
Because he's badass. :woot:

Why does Wheelie hump Mikaela's leg?
Because she's hot.

Why are robots who join together to become Devastator also seen fighting the Army at the same time?
Those were the Protoforms who landed on Egypt. Either they scanned the Construction's alt-modes or Soundwave provided them those.

Why does the government want only our military fighting Decepticons when our weapons seem unable to make so much as a dent on any of them?
What about the SABOTs? They worked.

Why did the ancient Egyptians build a pyramid around the sun-destroying machines instead of just breaking it?
It's Cybertronian technology. Maybe they couldn't.

Why is the Matrix of Leadership bigger in the Fallen's hand than in Sam's?
Was it?

And how do Mikaela's pants stay so clean?
They get dirty.

Simmons got the walkie-talkie from the pilot of that helicopter that Megatron shot down. The chopper wasnt there when the EMP hit so the w-t worked just fine and i suppose it transmitted to the chopper (w-t have a short range) which then transmitted to the fleet.
Why does Sam's roommate not contribute anything at all?
Not only did he lead them to Simmons, but he acted as a foil for Sam. He was searching for robots and conspiracies but when he got in the middle of it he lacked the balls to do anything. Sam on the other hand overcame his fears and acted.

What was the Fallen doing for those thousands of years Megatron was frozen in ice?
That is indeed a plot hole. He could have rescued him.

Deep down i know that bay wanted to use those beautiful constructicon designs both alone in combat and combined in devastator but the way the battle was orchestrated didnt let him do that in a logical way. Or he had no money for new designs.

But lets try to convince ourselves that what you say happened.

Finally Kane, you deserve the award of biggest nitpicker in the world. "Why do Mikaela's pants stay clean?" Seriously?

Also, the Fallen said that he wanted to return to earth after all this millenia, but he was scared of Prime. The fallen was in our star system for thousands of years when Prime came, what, 2 years ago?

He could have killed every human (thus paying back his fellow primes by doing what they wanted to stop him from doing), he could have found the allspark, rescued megatron and searched for the matrix some more.

But he is a couch potato i guess.

you deserve the award for poster that cant read, it was from Yahoo Movies not me

I don't think it is a plot hole.
As far as i could tell the Fallen looked pretty darn weak and crippled in that chair of his wherever he was. I didn't think he had the strength to do his own dirty work A) because of possible damaged caused by the other Primes before they ran off and B) because of how long he'd been stuck doing nothing similar to Jetfire.
That could be the very reason also why Prime kicked his ass so easily because he was weak.

That is why he couldn't of got Megs. That and he wouldn't know the location of Megs just like the other Decepticons didn't.

I have a question how is that when the Autobots are in robot form they're all rusted/dirty/scratched/borken windows but then their all clean spit polished with a coat of turtle wax when in vehicle form even after a battle?

The fallen was healty enough to get up and destroy an aircraft carrier and duke it out with Prime.

Megatron and all the other bots have been operating without energon for millenia and all of a sudden they need to harvest suns?

Come on, stop kidding yourself, they didnt think everything through. This plot came after the first movie so it was difficult to change things to suit this film's plot.

First it was the allspark, then they had to drain suns to get energy. Now what are they gonna do anyway?

He didn't 'duke' it out with Prime at all. Prime owned his ass all over the place.

What aircraft carrier? The Fallen never destroyed one. Decepticons did but he didn't.

Go rewatch the film and you'll see Prime kicking his ass and the state he is in when Megatron visits him.

Yes the plot came after the first movie hense it being the sequel but what has that got to do with anything?!

Yup.

1. Why would The Fallen care about Megatron being stuck in ice?

And he seemed to be freaking petrified of Primes. I get the sense that he didn't want to venture out until he knew it was safe.

I'm thinking if The Fallen ventured to Earth to find Megatron and the cube, Prime and the autobots wouldn't have been far behind.

Finally Kane, you deserve the award of biggest nitpicker in the world. "Why do Mikaela's pants stay clean?" Seriously?
I posted a picture. They're dirty.

Megatron and all the other bots have been operating without energon for millenia and all of a sudden they need to harvest suns?

It's not about keeping themselves running. It's about creating more Transformers, to build a bigger Decepticon army.

1) The government cover up something that big is the joke. Thousands of people saw the battle but what transpired was written off as a hoax. There actually is a reason why this can be possible.

A) People like a down to earth explanation. If you were told your friend was killed by a terrorist because they had the holy grail and it was the truth, that would be hard to swallow. If the police(who are lyng) tell you it was a mugging, your probably going to believe that.

B) You sure thousands of people saw the fight?
The battle was kept to a street and the battle wasn't particularly long(10-15 minute fight tops). If the transformers didnt stick around long enough for bystanders to regroup then they would be photographed or seen by many people. Most people would also be too busy running away and with the environment stress and fear would screw up memory.
You basicaly got a case of "1000" people there and no one saw anything.

c) Dismiss things posted on the internet as a hoax.

With all this + 2 years later with no concrete further appearances and you got a true events dismissed as a hoax.

2) The Autobots believed that the allspark bits were useless. They dont know megatron has been revived with it til he shows up for Sam(at which point Optimus is killed later). They could assume that the allspark brought megs back after they are done mourning. Meanwhile Sam is then quickly gotten out of the danger zone and lies low for a day. To be productive, he soon goes on to find Jetfire.

OKAY THIS IS WHY OPTIMUS WAS NOT BROUGHT BACK BY THE ALLSPARK

Up until this point, the only people who know the allspark may bring back a dead transformer are the Autobots at the fight who saw megs(Who are quickly taken into custody by the government when they drop optimus body)

Sam does not know how megatron was brought back or even that the allspark the government has was stolen. He knows it brings normal machiens to live but not that it can bring back the dead. So it doesnt cross his mind to us it bring back the dead because HE DOESNT KNOW! Soon after Sam goes and finds jetfire and uses his piece to bring jetfire out of stasis. The allspark is used up and thats all she wrote. Essentially if Sam didnt need to go on the run and the Autobots knew how to use the allspark fragment, they wouldnt have needed to use the matrix to bring prime back.

In summary the Bad guys knew how to use the allspark and the good guys didnt.

4) Even transformers need to use external tools. Also as we have seen the transformers have very human qualities.

5) Bumblebee does not know shes a machine. He just doesnt want the **** screwing with the relationship. You really think he would let a dangerous transformer stay in the car with sam?

As for her human appearance(Hell I chalk this us to beast wars). Look no further then earlier when the metal balls formed a bigger solid mass. PLus hologram tech, a small transformer can take on the outward appearance and feel of a hot chick. You assume that her metal body is a solid mass and the metal is very heavy. The metal may not be very heavy for the size and could be a hollow shell.

Bumblebee voice box clearly hasn't been fixed. He got out a few lines before but in all this time hasn't gotten it fixed. Though given sams line, bumblebee may have limited vocal control(so he must use the radio)

6) Now stop assuming the cartoon is canon. The first movie implies that the transformers whiles machines, actually heal and therefore are alive. And given jetfire, they actually can age(though some are in better condition then others).

Anyway, in this continuity the transformers come out as babies and grow into the bigger form. They say nothing of how these babies are formed.

They didnt say all the primes sacrificed themselves. Only a few ones did so. The ones that didnt had children. Why they didnt kill the fallen back in the day? Maybe he was much more powerful back(He seems rundown when megatron sees him) then or simply escaped(which I also think given how little the autobots know of him). Now why a prime must kill him. Chalk it up to simple fear. The fallen that he was so powerful that only a prime could take him. Optimus is a powerful transformer who was given a boost by Jetfire(who while old and looked worn down may have actually been very powerful transformer) Optimus didnt exactly waste time killing him either.

9) Robot heaven. Wow aren't we a racist lot. If the transformers are alive and the soul exists and the afterlife exists, then why cant Sam go to the same heaven as the primes. Also if you want something less mystical. The matrix bits interfaced with Sam's body and the program executes. Sam body was healed and a smart message was left.

10) This one is just full of "I cant accept that this is a movie and that people arent perfect"

Not plotholes most of em just looking way too into things.
