THe only problem with the Punisher: War zone that would make people not want to see it would be that alot of people who have seen the 2004 version ( and didn't like it) and assume that this is a sequel.

My guess is that they will say a few things in the teaser about this being a new boot for the franchise in some sort of subtle way that will get the point across.

if they make the trailer, start to finish - nothing but blood, violence, explosions and screaming, with lots of tight shots of some of the famous or more recognizable faces; then a big skull and "WAR ZONE" title card, people will come. people WILL come.

That's a good marketing idea, and I'd be pleased with it. People could be surprised about it being The Punisher, almost as surprised as everyone who hadn't read the comics that didn't know it was a comic book character.
