There are movies that has this one shot that is just a ‘’gold’’ shot and that it seems to just represent the entire movie by itself.

What are these shoot for you?

For me there are few obvious like

Batman Returns – When Bruce gets up with the bat signal on the background.
Beauty and the Beast – When Belle and the Beast face of for the first time in the dungeon.
Jurassic Park – ‘’When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth’’
The Dark Knight – When the Joker was sticking out of the police car.
American Beauty – The multiple rose leafs scene.
Black Swan – When Nina finish the Black Swan dance and we see her ‘’wings’’
Brokeback Mountain – When Ennis is standing in the field and we see the fireworks on the background.

There are many more, but I will think of the later.

Yours?

I think a few Wes Anderson movies have a great habit of giving the film a crazy payoff shot that represent the entire movie. In Life Aquatic, in the sub when they find the shark, or in The Darjeeling Limited when that crazy train goes by with each train car being a different person's life.

Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom has my single favorite shot from a movie ever that fits this perfectly, Indy in the middle of the bridge with guys closing on both sides with the sword in his hand.

this is a good thread, and it really takes time to think things through, hmmmmmm

Beauty and the Beast – When Belle and the Beast face of for the first time in the dungeon.
Really? Interesting choice. When I saw you had Beauty and the Beast listed, I thought for sure it would be from the ballroom scene.

Anyway, there are so many iconic shots to choose from, but this one really stands out:

The scene that best represents an entire trilogy for me was a shot of the freshly minted Darth Vader, screaming, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo!" :woot:

:csad:

The Alien Queen in silhouette as we first see her in Aliens, with Ripley holding Newt.

The Dark Knight - After 2 face explodes, and Batman is standing in front of the wreckage

The flyby at the end of Superman The Movie.

Batman holding the mask in front of him for a few seconds in the Batcave before he puts it on for the first time in Mask of the Phantasm.

It's simply beautiful how much that one image conveys about the entire film.
