Movie Theater Experiences Thread

Here is where you tell your stories about your movie theater experience. Im not talking about the crowd that you were with when watching some movie, im talking about you spotted your ex girlfriend while you were with your new girlfriend, or you went 150 mph on the highway and TDK is about to start in 3 mins. whatever cool stories you have share them


me and my friends had a plan to go and watch Dark Knight(on the day it came out) in a movie tavern but the one we were going is at Ft. Worth (which is pretty far), it was 7:30 and we got there at 8:10 but they said all the dark knight shows are all soldout! so we try to find what is the nearest time to go and watch it in cinemark (where we always go). One of my friend called his dad to find out what are the timings, the next show is 9:00! so we raced the highway but then there was some traffic! so we kept calling the theater and ask how many tickets are left, she said there was 130 tickets left. 10 mins latter we called she said it there was 60 tickets.

when we got there, we had to find parking. when we found a car backing out of the parking spot, we waited until guy gets out, but then there was another car that also wanted that spot, we said "HELL F****** NO!!!!" and we almost crash into the other guy but we got our spot. we got out of the car and ran like hell to the B.O. The 9:00 show was soldout!!! it was the last show!!!

right when we were about to find another theater, some employee put up a sign that had another timing for TDK it was 11:00!! so we got the tickets and we waited until the line started, we went across the street to a WhatABurger and got food then we played some arcade games back in the theater and then the line started, when we got to see what screen is it, it was the biggest screen they had (it has over 300 seats) we ran up like kids and got the perfect seats, right in the middle where you see the big screen and the best sound. Best Movie Experience EVER!

It's late right now but off the top of my head the first one that comes to mind is when me and a friend went to see The Sixth Sense and there were four to five drunk girls a number of rows behind us. They were loud as hell during the previews and opening credits and ended up leaving near the beginning of the film because one of them puked in the isle.

Funniest thing though, was that it wasn't big enough for the smell to reach me and my friend so we stayed and watched the film instead of getting a refund. Good movie...

funny thing is..something funny happened to me while watching "orphan"

this story starts while im buying my tickets. this younger couple bought tickets to 'g-force 3D' and went inside..i of course bought an orphan ticket. i went to the bathroom first and then found my theater and walked in. what do i see when i get in there? the younger couple that bought tickets to 'g-force' had found their way into 'orphan' and they were going at it pretty hardcore in the top row of the theater. feeling awkward..i just sat in one the middle rows and kept facing forward. couple minutes later another guy walks in..he does the same. right before the movie started an older couple walks in. while they are taking their seats the older woman says very loudly "do you see those two kids fornicating there!?!" i chuckled to myself very softly. through the whole movie every now and then you could hear the chair squeaking back and forth. it was quite a scene :P

when i saw them they were just intensely making out. but as for later..that chair was squeaking a little too much for just making out

Just got back from Funny People, and there was this annoying chick talking on her cellphone 15 minutes before the movie was over. Finally, some other chick just told her: "Wanna go talk outside? Because ice is gonna get thrown on ya!"

She wouldn't shut up .

So my mom brought my friends and I to the cinema when we were kids to see Beauty and the Beast (yes, the disney movie). One of my friends inexplicably runs out of the film with my mom in pursuit. My mom doesn't return until the film is over. Turns out my friend was scared witless after the scene where the Beauty (can't remember the character name) walks into the mansion and you sou see the figure of the Beast moving up stairs. My mum told us that she brought him to the arcade next door because he didn't want to return.

Exact same situation with the same friend a few years later except the film was The Page Master and my friend ran out of the film upon seeing a character take a potion and turn into a monster.

Today i went to the theater to watch Funny People, so i sat down and was waiting for the movie to start, well the trailers, but the screen was stuck on that "Silence, Turn off your cell phones" video. 5 mins latter still, it was stuck and i saw a couple walk out of the theater, then they came back after 3 mins and the theater manager came out and explain that there was some problem with the projector, then the couple started to smack talk with the manager, and just when the manager started to call security the screen started to work and the lights went out and the couple forgave him and quickly went back to their seats. I thought WOW lol

I saw Harry Potter last night. Right as the movie starts, some idiot comes in talking on his cell phone. Then some stupid teen starts using his cell phone during the movie. And when the movie was over, another ahole was like "F*** this movie. This movie was gay as f***.

The best story I can think of is when I saw Batman Begins in theaters. It was crouded with people of every age group but, as luck would have it, a mother and 3 kids sat right behind me. Throughout the entire movie the kids were asking the mother questions; such as

-"Mommy who is he?" (I assume they were referring to Bruce)

-"Mommy where is Batman?"

-"Mommy what is Batman doing?"
etc......

I was beginning to lose my mind during the first half but luckily the film was so engaging I drifted in and out of noticing their questions to the mother.


Thank Goodness my 'TDK' expirience was phenomenal.

when they showed Beast some kid behind me said "Ohhh its Nightcrawler!"

One of the funniest things that has ever happened a guy sitting 4 seats away from me ,he was a bout 6 '5 and he kept kicking the guy sitting in front of him,girlfriends chair.So they guy asked him to stop several times,but he didnt.So the guy who was about 5'4 asked the tall guy to step outside ,the 6'5 guy said sure,i heard a few loud thumps and they both came back smiling.Well a few security guys had stopped them and told them to behave or they would be asked to leave without a refund.Amazingly the 6'5 guy stopped kicking her chair after that .I guess he didnt want to blow the 24 bucks he spent on tickets that day.
