Me and my friends are wanting to rent a movie that will scare the **** out of us...so what are some movies that scared the **** out of you?

Please don't recommend Paranormal Activity :oldrazz:

Suspiria

Sleepaway Camp II / 3 / 4 - but definitely not the 1st one.

I really dont get "scared" by movies. The Excorcist did the trick when I was young...like...I was scared to be in a dark room after seeing it as a child...but I'm an adult, and therefore don't get actually scared by Horror movies.

However...if it is an adrenaline rush you want...a good one is Inside. This French film about a widow on the night before she is to give birth is a terrible film...just a ridiculously bad script...but if you an your friends are watching a movie to go "WHAT THE...." then this does the trick. It is pretty relentlessly gory and keeps pushing the envelope of good taste. Several scenes had me going nuts over what they were showing...

First time I ever saw the crab walk in The Exorcist, it scared me half to death.

Even today, that part still gets me because of the music and how sudden it is.

^When they rereleased that movie in theatres i went to see it with a girl and she laughed hysterically the entire time. That movie is forever ruined for me.

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre and [Rec]

I can see how someone could find it humorous. A girl walking down the stairs on all fours, head first, at an accelerated pace does sound funny on paper. But I for one was scared ****less by the execution of it. The timing, the look on the mother's face, and the music were huge contributing factors.

I watched Drag Me to Hell for the first time two days ago, and that made me jump several times. It was a truly great horror film.

If you're a guy, look no further than Mitchell Lichtenstein's "Teeth."

Seriously...Trust ME.

I wasn't a big fan of Teeth. I found it to be extremely creepy, not in a good way. The death scenes were all hilarious though.

If you want to **** your pants, I'd always go for The Thing. Good tension, and plenty of big scares.

i remember being freaked out at Event horizon when i was little...
dont remember the movie though

If you want to ruin your life...not your day...your entire life...watch Cannibal, based on the teue story about a guy who placed an ad wanting to eat another human being, and the guy who responded to the ad. This movie is not "scary", as both participants are willing...but it is just...wrong. The movie is not right in the head. It shows things that should not be shown.

You know what...don't rent it...it's not worth the cost of your humanity.

The Entity: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082334/

I dont get scared with horror movies, but this one freaked me out enough. As a woman, one thing that freaks me is the thought of getting raped. I saw this movie once and i've never even tried to see it again, that's how much it freaked me out :oldrazz:

Wow, what a *****

LMAO

On the "Teeth" note... I thought that movie could have been suspenseful and shocking, but all in all, I honestly found it to be one of the most boring movies I've ever seen. Cool premise, but that movie gets an "F" for execution, at least in my book. If I were teaching a film class on how not to make a movie, I would devote and entire session to that film.

^True, and I agree...but just on the basis of the premise, what they showed...*shudders* jeez, y'know?

Every instance that it...happens...the first time I saw it I was like 'goddamn it AHH...No, NO!'...

lol

And I think Heretic means "Cannibal Holocaust"

No, I meant Cannibal.

Cannibal Holocaust is another matter entirely...

We ended up watching [Rec] last night....it didn't scare me(just a little creeped) but it sure scared the hell out of the girls. I had already watched Drag Me to Hell, and hell yeah that was a great horror movie.

Is Cannibal Holocaust the one that's supposed to be like a documentary?

ET scared the crap outta me when I was 4 yrs old. Took me most of my life to get over that.

Whoops, I guess I just glanced and assumed you left out 'Holocaust.'

My bad...yeah "Cannibal" is a good one to.

You know what, imaperson...do 'em both!

I had never seen The Exorcist until the re-release. I was in college and went with some friends. The only time I jumped throughout the film was when Father Karras was listening to the recording of Regan and then the phone rang. I jumped in my seat, yelled "jesus" and we all had a good laugh at my expense.
