Whether they were shot there or the actual setting of the movie is based there, do you ever watch these and check for inconsistent things, landmarks, etc.? Original Gangstas was shot in Gary, Indiana back in 1995, and I remember seeing Fred Williamson, Pam Grier, and Jim Brown in person, which was a huge ass moment for me. Though when the movie came out, I recognized areas like the steel mills, lakefront, and everything...however, the characters are sounded like they were from Harlem or just the east coast in general, which kind of threw me.

SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION was filmed in my hometown of Mansfield, Ohio at the old Reformatory. Never noticed too many inconsistencies though. They basically filmed without making too many changes. I've been in that tunnel Andy crawls through. It's about eight feet long.

Parts of Hearts in Atlantis were filmed in Virginia Beach. Parts of Mission: Impossible III were filmed and took place on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.

Live Free or Die Hard. Used to live right around Woodlawn, MD.

Some of Robocop was filmed in my hometown of Dallas, TX. I was just a baby (born 1986) when it was filmed though. Also some of JFK was filmed downtown.

Harold and Kumar takes place in areas I'm close to... The geography is all off. And, there is a white castle in New Brunswick.

Bourne Supremacy/Ultimatum, both Movies filmed some scenes in Berlin. I can't remember in which Movie he ran from the german Police, but there was a major inconsistency that bugs me. One moment he was in one part of town, and after running for like 2 minutes he was suddenly in a totally different part that he couldn't have realisticly reached in time.

Parts of "The Preacher's Wife", "The Family Man", and "Mona Lisa Smile" were filmed in my town.

Some of Jarhead and Into the Wild were filmed in my hometown.

Parts of Edward Scissorhands were shot in the city I live in at the moment. The shopping center specifically.

Bourne can do anything. :o

I live in Toronto so...a lot. Hollywood North baby! But I guess truly notable was the Hulk filming around here all summer (they blew stuff up on Yonge St, which is the core of downtown). In Resident Evil 2 the building that explodes at the end is Toronto City Hall.

Also filmed in TO as well. The university set is University of Toronto I believe.

Parts of Road Trip were filmed in Athens and Atlanta.

They shot a whole ****load of movies in my hometown Dordrecht. Which has the oldest city centre of the country. These movies tend to take place in the early twentieth century. So they shoot all those films here. But the thing is, they always just use the location as a double for Rotterdam/Amsterdam.

Usually movies in which the story centers around a funny little boy ala Oliver Twists who raises hell in the teachers/authority community with his crazy/naughty antics with his funny little friends. I can literally name five movies they shot here that had that very same premise.

And they occassionally shoot a war movie here too. Like Paul Verhoeven's Blackbook. (which I didn't even see...because the Dutch film industry really, REALLY sucks)

Little Man Tate was filmed in my apartment building.

A scene in Scream was filmed at my local Bradley Video in Concord, Ca.

Yeah. I'm from the White Castle-less town of Cherry Hill, as featured in Harold and Kumar.

Hmm, most of the ones by me have yet to come out, but this past year we had about 5 movies filmed by me. I don't remember all the names though.

One was called Quebec, but I know it was renamed. It stars John C. Reilly, Seann William Scott, and Jenna Fischer. It's about two grocery clerks or something. I got to meet all three. John C. Reilly graduated from my high school as well. :)

One came out, called Roll Bounce, starring Bow Wow and Nick Cannon. I know, you're jealous. :oldrazz: It filmed a little bit in my old grammar school. I think I was a freshman in HS when it filmed. I'm a senior now.

One just filmed a couple months ago in my friend's nextdoor neighbor's house. It stars Sean Bean, who he got to meet. It's called "The Root of All Evil"

The other is supposedly a thriller starring Michael Keaton. I never actually saw him though, and I don't know if it's straight to dvd or what, because their were about 400 different movie titles flying around. I'm not sure what it is called.

Also, my older sister was in the movie I Love Trouble with Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte. She and a bunch of her friends can be seen getting onto a train... that goes off course. lol. She got to meet Julia as well. If you ever see the movie, look for a big red bow or dress and that's her. haha

for the record, i live in the southside of chicago.

Terry, didn't you do this thread last year? But, anyway, I live in Miami and movies that are shot or take place here always disappoint me. They always shoot in Miami Beach and/or Downtown. There's more to Miami than those two spots.

The movie that is in development hell. The FIghter about pro boxer Mickey Ward taking place in Lowell, MA. Big names are attached (Wahlberg, Damon, Pitt, Aronofsky) I believe Mark Wahlberg is fighting to get Massachusetts to let up on their tax rules for film which are the worst in the country. If not then its going to Vancouver. I believe the strike is in the way now, but i see it as buying time to persuade MA government.

This is more about locating inconsistencies.

well...Scarface only shot a couple of scenes in Miami. Most of it was shot in L.A. so there's inconsistencies there.

Jurassic Park: The Lost World had some filming in downtown San Diego (my hometown) and it was cool to see that in the theater with a SD audience.

Hustle & Flow and Black Snake Moan was shot around Memphis, TN when I was staying there and I got to check out some of the production set-ups, which was cool. There was a premiere in the city where I got to see some of the actors *from a far distance* :o
