Movies We Like That Aren't Highly Regarded

Hellboy

I think its one of the best comic book movies ever. I find it a lot more enjoyable than the X Men movies and stuff like that.

Are you kidding me?
It got great reviews and I don't think I've ever talked to anyone who doesn't like it. I don't think I've ever seen anyone on these boards put it down.

And I really want to see The Rocketeer, haha.

You haven't seen it yet? You have to see it, it's great!

Some other great movies that are not highly regarded are Oscar, Deep Rising, Gun Shy, The Cable Guy, and there are others but I can't remember them at the moment. lol.

Evil Dead Trilogy
Them!
The Toxic Avenger
Big Trouble in Little China
Blade Runner

Revolver kicks ass.

Anywho...

American Outlaws.
Really funny, and some damn good action scenes. Especially that opening, and the bank ambush.

3000 Miles to Graceland.

Can this movie get any more badass? Seriously, one of the greatest villians to ever grace the screen in Costner's illegitimate son of Elvis, Murphy. Also nifty is avoiding mentioning the robbery or anything else overly criminal until the **** hits the fan. The trailers did this movie a disservice- how cool would it have been to go in thinking the movie was about a bunch of sleazy Elvis impersonators only to get your **** ruined 30 minutes into it? Great cast, great movie.

Lots-

Robocop 2
Robocop 3
Rambo II
Batman Forever
....Basically *****loads of Stallone and Arnie films because they rule no matter what any critics say.

erm.... what else,/...

... hmm, Il go think about it there are loads.

I thought this one was looked down on but it has a good rating on IMDB

Super Mario Bros.
Van Helsing

That's cool, I wasn't even aware of the prequel.

I finally remembered one of the other movies that I had initially thought of when I made the thread.

Always like this though, I've never seen the original

oh hell yes!! same for me... I love Sodebergh, anything by him is brilliant, and I love sci fi, so that combo was amazing, despite people complaining it has nothing on the original (which I unfortunately haven't seen).

The Fountain, it seems that no one I knows really likes it and it seems to get fairly mediocre reviews for the most part, I dunno, I thought it was a beautifully done film and overall a very smart one, it juts requires much more thought then the average flick

The Fountain was fantastic! Totally agree with you, but I can see that it is clearly not a movie for everyone.

I thought The Fountain had a great trailer and interesting premise, I never got to see it though.

Cool, I'm glad I'm not alone. :word:

I've seen The Fountain 6 times now, and it's one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. It's a beautiful movie.
