MTV bringing Teen Wolf to the small screen

That would seem to be the case. Granted, the whole Good Teen Wolf/Evil Teen Wolf thing seems like they're aping Vampire Diaries. Adapting the movie into a series over twenty years after the fact is bad enough.

...MTV should really change their name...to I dunno..TFRN. The ****ing Reality Network.

Which is probably why they decided acquire the rights to the Michael J. Fox film from the 80s. They can hide behind the auspices of "We're just adapting a property that preceded Big Wolf On Campus, so we didn't rip off ****!" Granted, their whole approach to this show is looking pretty much how I thought it would, somewhat aping the tone of Vampire Diaries. Maybe not, but it can't avoid the comparison.

And it's not like I'm staunchly opposed to taking the property and giving it a serious edge, but the original film was a comedy. If there are comedic elements, I wish the teaser would have showed that.

i hope they get micheal j fox to guest stars. if he wouldn't in the moive i porbbley wouldn't watch it in fact i just got donewatching teen wolf 1. it good moive. . they did make teen wolf 2 with out micheal j fox. it was ok.

Bah!! :( I do not like the fact that he was bitten. I liked the original where it was hereditary cause it was different. And now it just makes like every other werewolf story.

I agree with you 1,000,000% this 'version' bites (no pun intended :p).

Somethings look horrible, other things look good. The transformation looks painful and slow, just like An American Werewolf in London.

The kid looks like a lame version of Jacob.

The Dad being the hunter...Lame.

I'll give an episode a chance.

I just saw the trailer and was left confused. This show has nothing to do with Teen Wolf. They're just using the name as an advertising gimmick. It's sad to see Hollywood remaking everything, but it's even sadder to see them steal a brand name to sell something else. It's like if they did a show about a man turning into a giant spider and called it Spider-Man.

Ugh, exactly. I saw the trailer and thought, ok, why don't they just call this "Werewolf Diaries"? This is clearly Teen Wolf INO. They don't at least have him getting his werewolf abilities from his father in this.

I watched the first ep last night. Despite how it looked, I really like werewolves and decided to give it a chance.

The main actor barely showed any emotion, the rest of the characters were uninteresting, and really there wasnt anything that I liked.

But Im even more surprised that this has a 64 on metacritic. Of Course that's not a great score but I thought critics wouldnt like this at all

It wasn't so bad except for the cgi deer in the forrest & the 16 & pregnant jokes. I would have prefered Mtv would have called it something else besides Teen Wolf also, maybe "I Was A Teenage Werewolf" after the old 1950's Michael Landon movie.

after watching the pilot I quickly turned on my PS3, booted up Netflix and watched the MJF 80s original move to get the bad taste of what I just watched out of my mouth ;).

If this were any other network, I'd say this was a step down, but for MTV (a network I barely consider an actual network), I'd say this is something of a step up.

A few steps, actually. :o

The show is actually quite good. It has that brooding horror yet 80's comedy flare to it. Tyler Posey (the main kid) sells the role really well. His buddy is hilarious, also. I really dig this. It's like the original Fright Night with werewolves.

he has a crooked chin, why is his love interest not Booth? Styles is ok I guess

when the kid changes to the "werewolf" it looks horrible. It's basically him with long nails, and pointy teeth and ears. He looks more like Gollum than a wolf.

How does he sell the role well? He doesn't really show any emotion or facial expressions.

This show is terrible and stupid but it's on MTV so did anybody really expect different?

lol, that's what my wife said when she looked up from her book to see what I was watching. Soon thereafter she said, "Why are you watching this nonsense?" I guess I haven't missed anything good on MTV having not watched it in over 20 years.

What I thought was even more interesting than this show was the advertising for the other shows. Teen Mom? Real World 10? Sheesh! Not to mention the language on this channel is horrendous.
