*nods* It would be a killer way to really bring Fox into a supporting character role. Instead of him being the COO of Wayne & Batman's "Q".

I think its gonna have to get fantastical at one point. It can still be done good.

No it wouldn't, and that brings to me to something that I was thinking about the other day.

Let me see if I can get this into words.....

In Begins, we got Ra's trying to destroy Gotham, a pretty good adversary for Batman in his own right, but he's also working with Scarecrow and his fear toxin. This was a good challenge for Batman and it displayed well on the big screen.

In TDK, we have the Joker running amok blowing stuff up and just causing general chaos all over the place. Another good challenge which will translate well on the big screen.

In the third movie, we'll have Two-Face, which we don't really know what his motivations are and what he'll be up to since the movie hasn't been written yet.

My concern is, other than the fantastical villians that Nolan wants to shy away from, who else can give a major threat to Batman that will translate well on the big screen? The Riddler and Catwoman are just thieves. I don't think even Nolan can get a good movie out of Batman chasing down a thief for 2 1/2 hours.

I'd like to see Hush in third movie as a background player that you never see, but you definately see the results of what he's doing. Then the fourth film, is Batman vs. Hush.

I would like to see scarface (dc character not the drug lord), but hush would be an interesting character to have involved in the new series of films. Although i'm guessing we won't see a third installment for bout three to five years. Nolan likes to take his sweet time making everything perfect for his movies

There's also Bane, he can be a major threat as he was in Knightfall trying to run Gotham's underworld. He is more amoral than evil though. There is also Black Mask and the Penguin can be made to work in these new movies.
 
No Penguin >.>. What about scarface the dummy? I always liked seein him, he was really cool XD. I was never sure if the dummy was actually alive, or if it was the ventrilaquist.

I'm not sure he would transfer to the big screen well...I can just see Christian Bale walking up and backhanding the ventriliquist.

"A dummy? Seriously? You DO know I took down the Scarecrow, Rha's Al Ghoul, and the Joker right?"

He would the proceed to stomp the guy, spit on his dummy, and walk out...

Actually...that would be kinda cool now that I imagine it...:oldrazz:
 
He was a tough piece of wood though. And that tommy gun he carried usually messed people up pretty bad XD. ANd picture it, the whole movie you don't see scarface at all, maybe the guy holdin him a few times, or a shadow, then at the end...wait no now that I say it that would be pretty bad...Hmms XD.

And the Riddler isn't just a thief, that guy was messed up! I could see him doin some major damage, his traps to get revenge when he first became the riddler were pretty intense.
 
I didn't bother reading this entire thread, but has anyone brought up the Mad Hatter? Sure, he's awfully gimmicky, but what Bat villain isn't? As far I can understand, at the core, the Mad Hatter is no different than Joker. Joker's got clowns, the Mad Hatter has Alice in Wonderland, which a creepy Alice in Wonderland theme can be EXTREMELY creepy. If its done right, it would be a very good story I think. Then again, there are about 1000 ways of doing wrong for every 1 right way. I can see it now, The Mad Hatter played by....GARY BUSEY!! Ha, I jest.

yeah, dude, think about it. Don't play out the Mad Hatter like he is in the cartoon. Reinvent him. For instance, he's a single parent who's a tailor in Gotham. he pays protection money to the mob. He has one daughter. His daughter is coming up on her 12 or 13th birthday, and she wants an Alice in Wonderland birthday. So, he starts to make the costumes. He doesn't pay protection money, thus the mob burns his place down. His daughter gets trapped and he loses her. He goes insane, because he thinks he was a failure as a father, thus he tries to make up for it. He kidnaps a daughter of a prestigious Gotham family. Actually, let's make it interesting, he kidnaps a mob boss's daughter, and he tries to make her his daughter. The guy's freakin nuts right? he also gets goons because he went to another mob and told him he could hit their rivals where it would really hurt. So, no one can get near him. The cops, mob, nobody. So it up to Batman to save the girl, and in doing so, he's helping the mob (conflict of interest there). And the big scene, its his daughter's birthday, the kidnapped girl is dressed up like Alice, he's dressed up as the Mad Hatter, and they have a tea party, like his real daughter wished. And then batman crashes the party. Bap! Zow! Whack! Explosion! Batman saves the day! This all came to me while I was in the shower, btw....
 
Man, that's good stuff...you need to be in film school...
 
I think Timothy Spall has a good look for Mad Hatter as well
