I find I can't improve on OTL choices of Christopher Reeve, Lynda Carter, Michael Keaton, and John Wesley Shipp for Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, and the Barry Allen Flash, but here are my ideas for the rest:

    Fred Gwaynne as Solomon Grundy

"That's high praise. It contains all the elements of a classic Nic Cage movie role. #1: every sentence of dialogue is punctuated with maniacal laughter. #2: I get to wear bells and ride a giant hobby horse."

    Some suggestions to think about:

    Batman: Timothy Dalton
Green Lantern (Hal): Kyle MacLachlan, Bruce Campbell or Dan Aykroyd (before he got fat).
Billy Batson: Barret Oliver or Wil Wheaton
    Shazam: Bruce Campbell
The Joker: Christopher Walken, Dudley Moore
    Supergirl: Daryl Hannah

What about 80s directors, the ones that defined the decade?
Zemeckis, Dante, Howard, Reitman, Landis, Spielberg, Carpenter, Cronenberg, Cameron, Hooper, Lynch, Coppola, Scorsese, both Scott brothers etc

Well, I have him pegged more like a Tony Stark than a Bruce Wayne.

Kyle feels too young, Bruce feels too hammy, and unless Dan's channeling Elwood rather than Ray or his role in Spies Like Us, he just won't work.

By 1986, Wheaton will be too old. Billy can't have entered puberty before the first movie or much of the character won't work.

Much too young for The Wizard without makeup that would look rediculous. Much too scrawny for Captain Marvel without at least a year in the weight room.

A better choice than Helen Slater, but not quite perfect. Oh, if only Uma Thurman had been born ten years early!

    My choices for franchise directors:

Supermans III and IV: Richard Donner

    Wonder Woman: James Cameron

    Flash: Robert Zemeckis

    Green Lantern: Ridley Scott

Golden and Silver Age Green Arrow: Rob Reiner

Bronze Age and Seattle Era Green Arrow: Oliver Stone

Wolfman/Perez Teen Titans: Ron Howard, Second Unit/Special Effects Direction by Gary Goddard

Question: I want to say Sam Raimi, but he'd insist on putting Ted and/or Bruce Campbell in the picture somewhere. I'll say John Millius for a Steve Ditko Question or Oliver Stone for a Denny O'Niell Question. Second Unit Direction by Corey Yuen

    Firestorm: Steven Spielberg

Swamp Thing: Wes Craven or John Carpenter

    Black Lightning: Spike Lee

    Mr. Terriffic: Bill Cosby

    Suicide Squad: Mark L. Lester

Aquaman: James Cameron or John Carpenter

Super Zeros (Ambush Bug, Ted Kord Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, and Plastic Man) and/or Justice League Detroit: Either Tim Burton or Ivan Reitman

Stand Alone Helena Bertinelli Huntress or Slam Bradley movie: Martin Scosese or Francis Ford Coppola.

    Shazam!: Penny Marshal

It would be more interesting to discuss ideas for 70s DC movie casts.
Just imagine names like Clint Eastwood, Robert Redford, Burt Reynolds, Michael York, Roger Moore etc
Isn't there such a thread already?

He looked perfectly young enough in Stand By Me, not at all as some boy in his puberty

    John Hughes'
    The Justice Club

    Superman: Emilio Estevez
    Batman: Judd Nelson
    Wonder Woman: Molly Ringwald
    The Flash: Anthony Michael Hall
    Zatanna: Ally Sheedy
    Maxwell Lord: Paul Gleason

What we found out is that each one of us is a speedster... and a man of steel... and a sorceress... a princess... and a dark knight. Does that answer your question?... Sincerely yours, The Justice Club.

That actually would have worked... well, except for Ahnuld as Superman. ;)

Still, it would be funny seeing how they'd explain a guy who grew up in Kansas has an Austrian accent. Maybe Kryptonians all talk like Arnold and Clark picked it up after watching Jor-El's tutorial videos at the fortress?

Young Clark Kent: Who am I?

Jor-El: You-ahhh neem is Kawl-Ehl. You ahhh thee owenly suhvivuh of the planut Kreepton. Even thoohh you-of been reesed as a hooomun, you ahhh not one of dem. You hov greet powahhhs, only some of which you huhve as yet discovahhhed.

I'm assuming the use of the Michael Keaton Batman, which means if they go through all the other Robins first, should get to Tim Drake in 1994 at the earliest.

    How about Ben Savage instead?
