I love books - but I don't get descriptions of movement, Surroundings, physical environment and sometimes action scenes lol! It crazy I'm like wait? He did what kicked him in the head while being decapitated? :woot:

I often end up reading childrens books or YA because they dumb things down :woot:

Well, whatever it takes! :funny:

I can really relate to this, when I was younger I always felt like I couldn't visualize things very well. Now I realize that my visualization skills are fine, it's just that I prefer more visual medium like film. I actually wish I could get more into reading, especially since it's cheaper and more convenient than movies or television (not to mention it's considered a bit more 'intellectual'), but I just have a hard time getting invested and absorbed into books these days. It's weird because I can visualize and get absorbed in daydreams/fantasies extremely well, but there's sort of a disconnect when I try to read a novel, I just don't feel the same absorption that everyone else says they feel.

I grew up reading (and mostly re-reading) a lot of relatively simplistic children's books (Boxcar Children-type stuff), I didn't even read The Hobbit or Treasure Island (or even the YA Star Wars novels) until I was 14 or 15. I kind of wonder if I had pushed my reading skills a bit more when I was younger if I would be more of a reader today.
