It's been a long time ago since Iv'e written in here, but I have spent my time on devolping my own superhero. I have made a script and a quick synopsis on his story, I have sent a request to some producers and agents via: soyouwannasellascript.com, to read my story, I will be waiting for a respond but if I do not get lucky I'll post my story in here.
You can post comments and questions in here and I'll update you on how it is progresseing.

Yours truly

p.s. I am from Denmark, so I'm sorry if my English is bad.

ya right! Good Luck for you.. you have my full support! keep it up the good work..

I made the mistake of mentioning an idea I had for a superhero team in the wrong company once, that idea became Heroes. What sucks is I can never prove it other then to my friends I was writing the stories with.

My Idea was for a universe of superheroes in the "real world". Sort of like. what if one day we found out that superheroes were real? And that the government created them? I know not 100% what NBC is doing but close enough that they could ***** about me if I still went forward with the project.

But then again I still may.

That just sucks. I hate it when it happens:cmad:.
But you shouldn't let the incident have a negative effect on your work, keep on writting and imagening, that's what I do:cwink:.
By the way, I just want my story told, wheter on a movie in here dosn't matter to me I just want the credit for inventing something people like and apreciate.

Do you honestly believe this? How hard is it to come up with the idea of 'real' superheros?

That idea is used ALL the time. Sorry, but it just isn't original enough to claim plagerization.

I am not claiming that in any way. I am planing to restart my idea. But I'll be looking for some great artists to pull it off. I have one, and I have two great writers. Maybe I'll finally get this company off the ground. There have been many set backs over the years that have stopped it from happening.

Oh and a note to 181319, Copyright and trademark your stuff. Even if you do a poorman's copyright. Just mail a copy of your story and character designs to yourself but never open them. The post mark will be your copyright.

I didn't you could do that, thanks for the advise.
Oh by the way, I have recieved a couple of mails from some of the people in the movie business, but the message was that they were on vacation or had some trouble with their mail boxes  . If this goes on I will release my story on this site and on others too.

A lot of times movie executives do not except scripts from people who have not first sent in a outline of their idea through an agent. I know from my dealings with Marvel and DC that they want a one paragraph synopsis about your story first, and if they like that they will either ask you for a script and pay you for that once it is sent in, or they will buy your idea and have someone else write it. I know it sucks but those are their rules. The email you got sounds to me like a nice way of telling you they can't give an opinion on it with out going throught the proper channels.

But still send it back in with both the idea in synopsis form and script draft. Depending on who you sent it to you may have a chance. I would send it to smaller studios rather then a big one like WB or Universal. A smaller studio with out comic book properties may jump at the chance to have their own hero. But be warned 90% of all studios will want 100% of the rights to your characters. You may screw yourself out of royalitys. But then again that is why they want you to have an agent first so that you don't just get one check for the idea then see the studio make billions off your idea.

How can I get in contact with DC or Marvel? or at least someone who could be interested?

Well you can go to their web sites to contact them or just pick up any comic and their address always in there in the front and back of the book.

So are you having a hard time writing, in general? Or having a hard time doing a summary?

Either way, that is a strange statement to read or hear from a writer.

First, I am not a writer (just a regular comicbook movie fan).

Second, I always think and create stories and charachters in my mind, I've been working with this story for about 5 years and I haven't written any of it down on paper or computer. So It's kind of hard for me to write down 5 years of work! Besides that I've also been creating other hero stories and this is my first time to write some of it down.:yay:

If you aren't a writer than what's the point of this thread? And why would you develop an entire movie in your head without writing any of it down? If you haven't written any of it down then what did you send into the sell-a-script website? You still haven't filled us out on who this hero is or what he can do.

If you plan to be a writer or a develop a character you need to start writing them down so they make more sense, have a more compelling story to tell and it just all around makes things easier.

Grab a pen n' sit down.

The likelyhood of any superhero created from the ground up being made straight into a movie is astronicoly small all hero movies need years of comic exposure and a dedicated fan base no one is going to watch a movie about a hero they know nothing about.

I am NOT a writer nor do I tend to but I just want to share my work and that's why it's so hard for me to write it down. The item that I had send into the sell-a-script website was a logline (about 2-3 lines explaning the story in a flash) and ways to contact me, I have made a script of my story that could be made into a movie but I must stress that the script is my first ever and I have downsized it A LOT. :yay:
