I just got a ***** looking at those! hahaha
i envy you!!!
Cool collection man. What grade is Avengers #4 and what would you say the DD #1 and AF #15 are? How much did you pay for them?
the avengers 4 is a 4.5. The DD's are somewhere around 2.-3.0. The Avengers #1 is probably about a 4.0 and the spider-man #4 is around there as well. They all ran in the low hundreds
the AF 15 is really beat. You can see the chunks missing from the cover, and there's a crease and a stain going right across the cover. At least the cover is still attached. but I'm not quite sure what that qualifies it for on CGCs scale. I could say 0.5, but then what's a comic with no cover? I could say 1.0, but then what's a comic with interior pages missing? gets a bit fuzzy
why...can't get it up? hahahaha sorry, it was too easy, I had to take it.
haha lighten up XFAN, I was only joshin'
How much do you think your collection is worth, Elijya? I think you have more comics than my LCS...both of them!
I think I may have amassed more in my lifetime....but mine is no where near the value of that collection: nice
yeah I would have more....I just counted my boxes....but man I may have half the value.
I can't look anymore...I want them too badly! Especially Giant size X-men, Fantastic Four, The Hulk, and Amazing Fantasy
I have most Jack Kirby FFs...but nothing in the Spider-Man department like that...and the first Wolverine...oh man!!!!
Must....revert eyes.....from comics.....aarggghh.....too hard......can't resist.....it's like raiders of the lost ark.....all over again.....ARRGGHH!! (Sparta*'s face proceeds to melt off)
If we keep posting eventually we will be on the next page...and safe
Damn I'm a idiot for buying high grade comics. I'm gonna go with your approch and go low grade. One question man, what grade would you say Tales of Suspense #57, Hulk 181, Giant Size X #1 are?
Well its probably not a bad plan to buy slightly less than perfect comics
There's a few dozen trades under the desk and in the glass case.
I know but I've passed on alot of key books because they werent 9.0 or better. Most recently I passed on a X-Men #12 for 30 bucks just cuz it was like a 3.0.
Looks awesome elijya.
awww dude! you shoulda got it man!
dude, I WOULD get higher grade copies if I had more money. As it is, I usually just buy em whe n I see em if I want em, I'm not so picky as to look for specificly low or high grades. Though, If I had that much money, I'm not sure what would be the greater temptation - more Key books, or more original artwork (I have sizable collection I have yet to show any of you)
the tales of suspense is beat to heel. It's, like, a $20 copy. I should look into getting a nicer one, though, since I'm such a big Hawkeye and Green Arrow Fan. I held out for the longest time on GL/GA #76 because I wanted a high grade copy, but they're all too expensive
the hulk 181 is probably a VF+/NM-, the giant size is probably an F/VF or so
my biggest heartbreak is that my ASM 129 is a VERY nice copy, except for a small tape tear in the middle of the logo less than a quarter inch, but other wise mostly flawless. ****ers at CGC gave it a 6.0 even after I resubmitted it
how many boxes do you have?
I buy whatever issue I'm missin'. Grade is no object, all that matters is they're in MY collection an' I'm good. Which's why when someone offered me a piss-poor ASM #122 fer free, I took it in a heartbeat.
15 (long boxes) and a whole bunch of stuff not sorted too (like just lying around...I'm a slob sometimes). However I stopped counting 2-3 years ago when I had 5000+ so I wish I could tell you exactly how many I have picked up since.
You have many more TPBs than I do. You have a lot of issues in your collection...did you buy them mostly new or are you a backissue guy. I ask this because you seem to have a strong knowledge of the past 10-12 years of comics
