I'm in high school, and I'm in the school play which I really like. The play was set for April this year, and was like that for the last couple months. Today, without warning, the school didn't want it in April and just moved it to MAY 4TH (Spider-Man 3 release date):(:(:down.

You talk about crap. If my theater doesn't have a 10 PM showing I'm screwed. That's completley unfair and just my luck. I didn't even want to see it that late at night, I won't be focused during the play because I'll be excited for Spider-Man 3.

No, I'm not going to quit the play or anything so don't suggest that. I'm just shocked and very mad.:(

You mean the first showing ever on May 4th? Yeah I'm actaully thinking of doing that. But it's pretty much up to my brother's friend for a ride at this point because he wants to see it too. But I don't know for exactly 100% sure he can do it yet. Hopefully he can. If he can, and I can go and watch it, yay. I'll see it after my play too.

But I just think it's weird, that out of ALL the days in April and May, it's May 4th. I bet it won't be packed at all that night. Everyone will be at Spider-Man 3.:(

the world won't end if you miss out on the first day's showing. you already made a committment to your play and as sucky as it seems it has to come first.

lol. That's funny.

I'm a big, big Spider-Man fan. I've been waiting since 2004. We got in this play, being told "April 21st" or something like that. The school has nothing going on any of those other days. They just hate me lol.:p

So I'd be...well I hate to admit it but I'd cry if I miss opening day.:(

Go see the movie before going to do your play.

I'd love to but we don't get out until 4 PM and the play starts at 7 PM. Theatres here don't show movies until around 4:30ish on weekdays and I'm sure we'll have to be back at school ATLEAST by 6.

I forgot you live in a small town.

I'd hate to miss opening day too. I've considered skipping school to go see it. But my mom would ground me until I'm 82 if I skipped school, so I'll just wait until after school.

What play is it and what's your role?

They'll add more shows,it's Spider-Man. I went to see Napoleon Dynamite and they decided to show Bad Boys 2 or something like that because it was more popular,I was pissed. [/geek] :cmad: :down

Let your understudy handle opening night and see the movie.

:whatever: well, im taking the SAT the day after SM 3 comes out and i plan to see it as soon as i step out of school.

I have tickets already. bwahahah. I'ma see it opening day, at midnight. BWAHAHAH

undertsudy.......hahah
were in the middle of rehersals and we still are pretty much missing one character. And they decided to give us play practice the day GR opens. We were told when we started the play that the date was April 20th. In bold letters. It did not say "tenativly". I guess our school dosnt realize that no one in our high school will being seeing our play opening night because in our small town, we're lucky enough to have 2 theaters and thats pretty mushc what everyone does on Friday nights from our school.

No he's not stupid guys.^

He's my friend, who's also in the play. Not some guy just out of nowhere lol.

man thats not good, your best option is to see it at 10 or whenever. thats not so bad, the theater will be packed and really energetic, the perfect audience to watch it with.

Hey I know how you feel. My highschool play was opening night for Matrix Reloaded. You know what I did? I acted my little heart out and then went to see the Matrix later that night.

Nebins, did u have any trouble at all with your mind wandering about Matrix Reloaded? because Im worried that during the play my mind will wander to SM3

Skip School. Yes, Spidey 3 is that important.

ah man, that sucks. If I were you I'd discuss it with the director and ask if the date can be pushed back a day or week. It's not enough to say its because you really love spiderman and have been dieing to see this film. If you tell the director that possibly no one will want to see this show because its the opening day of spiderman 3, then i think the date will be changed.

by the way, what show are you doing? I'm just did Cinderella for the road show in my highschool. I was the king :D

Not at all. I don't know if you've ever done a play or show or any sort of performance but its all adrenalin that night and all you think about is the show. Atleast that's what it was like for me. It's all about the show until the final bows and then you can't wait to get your ass out of there and catch your movie.
