Long story...
When I joined SHH a year ago I was like a new Batman fan all over.
I was around 3 when B89 came out, so I grew up with that franchise, I collected every action figure and vehicle possible for a British child.
Then came 1997 and Batman & Robin. Maybe I was a disturbed child, but I loved Returns and disliked the lightheartedness of Forever. Obviously, I wasn't a fan of B & R. It was a combination of the Schumacher films, and the fact that I was now 11 and going on to high school that led to me putting Batman aside until 2005. Shamefully, with parents hints, I sold off all my toys around about when I was 15
After Begins (and I know this makes me superficial to become a born again fan, while some one you were faithful throughout) I got into Batman again, and after joining this forum I was encouraged by many of you to take up the graphic novels. I made a promise to myself to purchase as many continuous books as I could afford... I started with what I could get hold of- the 5 No Mans Land books and the Dark Knight Returns. Then I expanded from The Long Halloween to Knightfall to the entire War series.
Anyway, Year One was the first book I wanted, and one of the last I could get hold of. Similarly I wanted Legacy, Prodigal and The Man Who Laughs. For me, they were all extremely rare and expensive, but after a total of 110 graphic novels I have finally have them!!
I feel now, after 1 year and a quite a bit of money, I have a nice set of Batman books, complete with the Catwoman, Birds of Prey and Nightwing series. Looking at them in order, I enjoy seeing the progression of characters, and the attention to continuity the writers have given.
Right now I'm just so excited and pleased to get Legacy yesterday that I wanted to share my story which basically began on SHH and is owed to the enthusiam of the Batfans.
Does anyone else have anything similar to talk about?
