Here are my thoughts on what can happen on the film:

- Apocalypse will be like a Sebastian Shaw. A very powerful man, with lots of resources gathered through millenia. I think we will only see his grayish skinned form until the film´s end.

- Mystique will be convinced by Apocalypse to join him (since she is now on her own).

- Mystique will deliver Logan to Apocalypse.

- Apocalypse will fund the Weapon X project alongside Stryker and put the adamantium on Logan (finally we will have the REAL Weapon X project, leading to an amnesiac Wolverine).

- The young X-Men will fight Apocalypse, Mystique and Wolverine as a horsemen.

- Magneto´s will show Mystique that Apocalypse is not the way, and save her from him, thus leading them to be together once again.

- Wolverine will end up in the wilderness without Xavier being able to track him due mental blocks that Logan will have (this is, I think, the best way to go, since an interaction with Wolverine and the young X-Men might look a little bit off, specially with a young Jean).

So mostly, the film will feature two plots: the recruit of the young X-Men, and Logan undergoing the Weapon X Project.

I really hope that X-Men: Apocalypse will finally lead Mystique into her darker path. A compassionate, emotive Mystique, is just NOT her. I think we had enough of that. Also, the film can bring back Liev as Victor, and again, a young Gambit being captive by Stryker.

What do you think? What do you hope to see in the movie?

I like the ideas in that really don't contradict anything in X1-2. Mystique going back with Magneto, Wolverine getting amnesia again. This way in X2, Magneto's lines of "You haven't told him about his past" and Xavier's "Logan's mind is very fragile" could actually tie into DOFP.

None of that would tie in without confusing even more, X2 is in the original timeline before the change

As for mystique going a very dark path, well technically killing trask what sent her there, it was her first kill and the she got experimented on, if they end up finding another way I can't see how it would have same impact

Yes, there is a new timeline, but that doesn´t necessarily mean everything will go completely different.

Regarding Mystique... I think the character is more rich when walking on the dark path. Betraying everyone. Charles and Magneto included.

After two movies with JLaw, I still preffer the bit.. attitude from Romjin´s Mystique.

So here is what I would do. Basically the story would span most of the decade:

0. (3000BC) Obviously we need a prologue with En Sabah Nur, his initial crusade, and his hibernation.
10 minutes
1a. (1980) then we fast forward to Professor X and Beast meeting Scott Summers for the first time. He is 12 years old, in an orphanage/wayward home for boys. Bandages around his eyes, very timid.
1b. Magneto has become obsessed with researching and resurrecting the ancient mutant Apocalypse. Mystique and Wolverine catch on and begin tracking him to see what he's up to.
15 minutes

2a. (1984) Xavier and Beast are training with Cyclops on a day with particularly bad weather. When Storm (22 years old) shows up at the mansion grounds, cloaked and evading the authorities. Beast and Cyke (16) assist her in driving them away. Cyclops is already much more sure of himself.
2b. Magneto finds Apocalypse's resting place and begins the occult process of resurecting him. Mystique and Wolverine try to stop him. Apoc awakens during their spat and possesses Mystique and Wolverine. Magneto manages to escape to the sounds of them screaming in agony while Apoc modifies their bodies.
20 minutes

3a. (1986) There's news of Apocalyptic events in the east but the US is relatively unharmed thus far. Xavier begins to grow frantic. He uses Cerebro and searches for the most powerful mutant he can find. He goes to find her but tells Scott/Ororo/Hank to stay behind and continue training. When he meets Jean Grey (age 17) they have a mind-off. They meet on the astral plane and he learns about her Phoenix persona. He convinces her that together they can harness this power and become a force for good.
3b. Apocalypse continues his reign of terror with Wolverine (now with adamantium) and Mystique. He has reached the southern US where he finds his third horseman, Gambit who is attempting to protect his village (with all the charm and sarcastic hero personality he can muster). For the final horseman, Apoc sets his sight on the most powerful mutant he can find, a telepath.
40 minutes

4. Apocalypse shows up at Xavier's front door. The Horsemen (Wolverine, Mystique, Gambit) do battle with the X-Men (Beast, Storm, Cyclops, Phoenix) while Xavier convinces Apocalypse he is the telepath he was searching for (and not Jean). Xavier is taken as the fourth Horseman.
20 minutes
5a. X-Men feel down and out. They want to give up. Cyclops takes up the mantle of leader. Beast suggests they find Magneto to figure out how to stop Apocalypse. Jean and Scott have a romantic moment. Jean (with no restraints on her powers) uses Cerebro to locate Magneto.
5b. [idk what mags is doing. Drinking?] they show up and convince him to join their cause. He joins to save both Mystique and Xavier. He knows how to put Apoc back to sleep.
15 minutes

6. Apocalypse is now enacting his plan to eradicate the human race and enslave mutant-kind. And thus the final battle: (Magneto, Beast, Cyclops, Storm and Jean) vs (Apocalypse, Xavier, Wolverine, Mystique and Gambit).
20 minutes

7. resolution. Apocalypse is re-entombed. Xavier is saved, he is proud of his X-Men. Mystique is once again enthralled with Magneto. Wolverine is pissed at Magneto, joins the X-Men. Gambit takes off. Cable shows up and tells them it's not over. "My name is Nathan Summers. I am your son from the future. The battle is far from over."
5-10 minutes

[BLACKOUT]X. Mid credit sequence: Gambit meets Mister Sinister.[/BLACKOUT]

Total Runtime: 2hr 30 minutes

What this does is opens up three new films. Original Trilogy sequel, First Class sequel and "Gambit" spinoff along with the already planned Wolverine threequel. Fox now finds themselves in the predicament Marvel/Disney is in. Too many movies, too little time.

One thing I remember is in the yahoo interview Hugh was talking about Apocalypse and he mentioned that he and his son were out to dinner with Bryan and were discussing ancient mutants. And Hugh's son is a big fan of ancient Egypt and said to Singer some things about people then and Bryan said to Hugh something like he just figured out the villain for Apocalypse. We know Apocalypse is worshipped what if he went by different names and one of them was one of the ancient Egyptian Gods? Could be a fun little tidbit they throw in. Or something like he was an ancient pharaoh. Just some theories.

Except Apocalypse didn't have anything to do with Weapon X. In the comics it was run by John Sublime (who's a terrible villain who shouldn't be used), Romulus (who is also not a very good villain), Truett Hudson, Carol Hines, Abe Cornelius and Mister Sinister. If anything, Sinister would be the one to get his hands on Wolverine.

This movie will focus on Xavier and how he would assemble his x-men team, as Singer said. Beast is the senior, young scott, jean, ororo may be joined, as young nightcrawler (Singer wants to put him). Eventually Wolverine and Gambit.
And this time Xavier must be hairless!!!
