INT. JET

STORM, BEAST, ANGEL and ROGUE are waiting, anxiously.

ROGUE
She’s been too long. We better go after her.

BEAST
No. We can’t be seen. It’s best if we stay here.

ROGUE
(Rubbing her arms)
I just wish I knew she was okay.

Suddenly, KITTY phases up through the jet’s floor.

KITTY
I’ve done it! The defence systems are offline.

STORM
Good work. Did anyone see you?

KITTY
I don’t think so.

STORM
Ok… this is it.

She lowers the ramp, and descends. Beast follows her lead, then Rogue, then Kitty and Angel bringing up the rear.

Once outside, they gather in a circle.

STORM
Hank, Warren, I want you to go the power core. Shut it down by any means necessary. Kitty, Rogue, stay together. Make sure the route back is clear.

KITTY
What are you going to do?

STORM
See if I can access Trask’s files. I’m sure there’s plenty of information we can use against him. Let’s go. And be careful.

They split off.

INT. MANHATTAN – MALL – MEANWHILE

Destruction rains down. It is chaos. People are screaming, running madly for their lives as a GROUP OF MUTANTS destroy everything in sight.

Juggernaut picks up a table and throws it through a shop window, shattering the glass.

JUGGERNAUT
This is the most fun I’ve had since tivo!

Pyro sends a stream of fire at a group of people, creating a ring of flame around them. They scream in terror. Pyro laughs. Suddenly, Psylocke nudges Pyro. She nods over to the side. Pyro turns to see-

THE X-MEN MARCH TOWARDS THEM. Logan, Iceman, Colossus and Gambit walk side-by-side, like cowboys in the Wild West.

LOGAN
Enough is enough. Now puts your toys away kiddo and leave.

PYRO
Sorry, Logan. Didn't anyone tell you? I flunked at taking orders. Juggernaut?

Juggernaut smiles, then walks about five feet in front of Logan.

JUGGERNAUT
Want a rematch, eh?

LOGAN
I’ve been practising.

In a flash, Logan’s stabs upward into Juggernaut’s arm. He doesn’t even seem to notice. He laughs madly.

JUGGERNAUT
That tickled!

Juggernaut hits Logan in the chest, sending him flying back through a shop window and slumping to the floor. Juggernaut puts his helmet on.

JUGGERNAUT
This should be fun.

And he rushes off in Logan’s direction. The others, Iceman, Colossus and Gambit, watch the Brotherhood with curiosity.

ICEMAN
Jon, stop this. We can help you.

PYRO
Like you helped your girlfriend?

ICEMAN
Why are you doing this? You were our friend. We trusted you. How can you hurt innocent-

PYRO
Nobody is innocent, Bobby. It’s us or them. One day soon, you will have to realise that.

ICEMAN
I don’t want to hurt you, Jon.

PYRO
Shame… because I want to hurt you!

He sends a fire-ball at Bobby’s head, who freezes it in mid-air. It falls to the ground with a clunk! Bobby grins. Pyro snarls and dives at Bobby, tackling him to the ground. They both wrestle on the floor.

Psylocke faces Gambit and Colossus.

PSYLOCKE
You’re no X-Man.

GAMBIT
You noticed, huh?

PSYLOCKE
Can you betray your own kind like this? We were only trying to help.

COLOSSUS
Help who? Yourselves? You were killing innocent people.

PSYLOCKE
Do you think any of these people give a damn about us? They’ve blinded you, fooled you. They don’t care if we live or die.

Gambit thinks about this.

GAMBIT
Maybe. But they don’t deserve to die.

PSYLOCKE
And who’s going to stop us? You? You can’t even help yourself.

Gambit pulls out a card, ignites it.

GAMBIT
I normally save this for last… but for a pretty belle like you, I can make an exception.

He throws the card at Psylocke, who dematerialises into a shadow and reappears behind them. She kicks out at Gambit’s back, who crashes into a bench.

PSYLOCKE
I’m flattered.

Colossus swings, but Psylocke has re-emerged behind him once more. She punches him. He staggers back a little. She launches a flurry of attacks, kicking, punching, kneeing… but then, he catches her foot in mid-swing.

He smiles, then metals up. He throws her through the air, crashing into a vending machine. Meanwhile, Logan is swinging at Juggernaut.

JUGGERNAUT
Give up little man! You don’t belong with the X-Men. They will never accept you-

LOGAN
I guess you don’t know me that well.

He stabs Juggernaut in the stomach.

LOGAN (CONT’D)
I don’t like to be told what to do.

He stabs him with his other claw. Juggernaut grunts in pain.

JUGGERNAUT
Well, I guess you don’t know me that well either. I’m the Juggernaut!

He grabs Logan by his arms and throws him above his head. Logan crashes through the ceiling, landing on the floor above.

JUGGERNAUT
Oh great!

Juggernaut rushes off up the stairs. Bobby and Pyro are still wrestling on the floor.

BOBBY
Look at you, Jon. Working for Trask? There was a time when you wouldn’t take orders from anyone. Not even the Professor.

PYRO
Yeah? Things change.

BOBBY
And so do people.

They wrestle some more, until Jon is prowling over Bobby. Bobby kicks out with his legs, knocking Jon on his back. Bobby stands, and then freezes up.

BOBBY
I’m sorry, Jon.

PYRO
I’m not!

They both unleash their attacks, Jon’s fire colliding with Bobby’s ice. It’s a stand-off, neither man gaining the advantage.

 

[TKing]

INT. TRASK INDUSTRIES – HALLWAY

Two guards walk past. Out of the wall, emerges Kitty and Rogue.

KITTY
It’s clear. Let’s go.

They walk into a large, darkened room. It is pitched black inside. They descend the metal stairs and walk around, cautious.

ROGUE
I can’t see anything.

As they pass, PAN UP above their heads. Two white lights switch on, flickering. From the light radiated, we can just make out a metallic head. The head swings to glare at the two girls.

INT. TRASK INDUSTRIES – POWER CORE

Beast is laying down explosives.

BEAST
Hand me another charge.

Warren does so. Beast plants it aside to the other ones.

BEAST (INTO COMMUNICATOR)
Storm, that’s it. We’re all set.

STORM (FROM COMMUNICATOR)
Okay. Give me five minutes and we’re out of here.

Suddenly, the doors open and five heavily armed troops arrive.

SOLDIER
Freeze, muties!

ANGEL
Can’t those five minutes go any quicker?

INT. TRASK INDUSTRIES – OFFICE

Storm is sitting at a desk, reading the information on the screen.

STORM
Oh no.

She lifts a communicator.

STORM (INTO COMMUNICATOR)
Beast, come in. We’re too late. Trask has set up these facilities all over the country. There’s no way we can stop them all in time.

There is no reply.

STORM (INTO COMMUNICATOR)
Beast? Come in. Beast?

Suddenly, there is a low rumbling noise and the sound of metal scraping on metal.

STORM
No! It’s begun!

 

[TKing]

I quite enjoyed writing the next part. Look out for the cameos!

INT. TRASK INDUSTRIES – DARK ROOM

Immediately, dozens of eyes light up and the room is soon filled with the sight of Sentinels. They look up. The ceiling opens up to reveal a cloudless night sky.

One by one, the Sentinels rocket up through the ceiling and disappear into the sky.

EXT. WORLD MONTAGE – VARIOUS

--A young blonde woman dressed in white, EMMA FROST, is in a waiting room, when something purple flashes past the ceiling-tall window. Curious, she walks over to the window and looks down: into the eyes of a Sentinel. Its eyes flash violently.

--It is snowing, and a stone monastery sits on a jagged rock. Inside, the blue-skinned NIGHTCRAWLER looks up as the ceiling is torn off. Two Sentinels glare down on him.

--QUICKSILVER AND SCARLET WITCH are sitting on a bench in a park, laughing. Suddenly, a Sentinel touches down onto the ground and walks steadily towards them. They look up in terror.

--It is stormy weather, the sea growing to tremendous heights. A man, BANSHEE, walks across the docks. The floor beneath him shakes and he looks over his shoulder, as two Sentinels march at him.

INT. MANHATTAN – MALL – DAY

Logan is still getting pummelled by the Juggernaut.

JUGGERNAUT
Not so tough now, eh, X-Man?

LOGAN
I haven’t even got started.

Across the way, Colossus charges at Psylocke, who blends into the shadows. She appears on his shoulder, her legs wrapped around his neck. She smiles, then teleports into the air.

She drops Colossus and teleports to safety at the last second. Colossus, however, crashes into the floor, lying still.

From behind Psylocke, emerges Gambit. He has a charged card in his hand.

PSYLOCKE
What are you going to do? Kill me? Like you did that Washington Senator?

Gambit studies her, his hand slowly lowering.

PSYLOCKE
You know you will never amount to anything. You’re a thief, always have been, always will. You’ll never be a part of them.

GAMBIT
You’re wrong.

Psylocke glares at him, with an expression of Yeah, right.

GAMBIT
I have something you never will… friends.

With that, he throws the card into the air and dives to the floor. Psylocke, however, isn’t as quick and is blasted back by the explosion.

She falls over the railings, and topples over the balcony. She crashes to the floor, dead. Gambit helps Colossus up.

COLOSSUS
Thanks.

GAMBIT
Yeah. No worries.

Juggernaut, meanwhile, punches out at Logan’s stomach, who crashes down onto the floor below, where the others are.

Juggernaut leaps down. Logan barely rolls in time to avoid getting crushed.

JUGGERNAUT
You can’t run from me!

He grabs Logan by the shirt and hits him in the face a couple times.

JUGGERNAUT
I’m the Juggernaut!

LOGAN
You said that already.

He stabs straight into Juggernaut’s neck.

LOGAN
And I ain’t impressed.

Logan looks over at Gambit.

LOGAN
Cajun!

Gambit looks over, and instinctively knows what to do. He rushes over, and charges Logan’s body. The energy travels through his adamantium bones and through his claws, into Juggernaut’s body. The Juggernaut convulses, then crumples to the floor.

He lands with a giant thud, shattering more shop windows. Dazed and discombobulated, Logan puts a hand on Gambit’s shoulder.

LOGAN
Good work.

Meanwhile, Bobby and Pyro are still using their powers against one another. Feeling the strain, Pyro sets a nearby potted tree alight. It droops, and starts to fall. Bobby dives out of the way.

Immediately, Pyro unleashes another spout of fire, to which Bobby counters with a shield of ice.

BOBBY
Jon, please! Listen to me! You don’t have to do this. Let the X-Men help you.

PYRO
I can’t.

BOBBY
Yes, you can. You were one of us before; you can be a part of us again.

PYRO
No. I can’t go back.

BOBBY
Why not?

PYRO
They will never forgive me. What I’ve done. I’ve killed… children.

BOBBY
Jon, none of us are perfect. We all do stupid things. Storm will understand.

PYRO
What if she doesn’t?

BOBBY
Then we’ll get through it. Together. Like we did before. As friends, like we should be.

PYRO
But… I…

Suddenly, three sharp pieces of metal shoot into Pyro’s back. His eyes go white and he crumples to the floor. Bobby rushes to his side. But it’s too late. Pyro is dead.

Bobby looks up, to see MAGNETO.

BOBBY
You!

Bobby launches himself at Magneto, but Logan pulls him off.

BOBBY
Why? Why did you do it?

MAGNETO
Because he would have killed you.

BOBBY
What? No. He was just starting to listen, and you-

MAGNETO
I saved your life. He was hoping you’ll let your guard down.

BOBBY
No. He wouldn’t. He…

MAGNETO
I would have done the same.

Colossus walks to Bobby’s side, puts his arm on his shoulder.

LOGAN
What are you doing here?

MAGNETO
I came to help.

LOGAN
We don’t need your help, thanks. We’re doing just fine.

MAGNETO
Oh really? What about the Sentinels? I’ve heard about Mr Trask’s plan.

LOGAN
Already taken care of. Storm and Beast are at the warehouse right now, shutting them down.

MAGNETO
Oh really? Then what are those?

He nods towards something of screen. Logan and the others follow his gaze to a TV, in a shop window. He displays pictures of Sentinels landing all over the country.

LOGAN
Not good.

 

[TKing]

INT. TRASK INDUSTRIES – CONTAINMENT CELL

Beast and Angel are handcuffed, kneeling on the floor, in the cells. Soldiers pass by occasionally.

ANGEL
What are we going to do?

BEAST
I have the explosive trigger in my back pocket. Can you reach it?

Angel leans back to back with Beast. He finds the trigger in Beast’s pocket.

ANGEL
Now what?

BEAST
On my signal, activate it.

ANGEL
But what about all the guards?

BEAST
With an explosion tearing this place apart… I don’t think they’ll even recognise us.

INT. TRASK INDUSTRIES – HALLWAY

Storm meets Kitty and Rogue.

ROGUE
Storm!

KITTY
We were too late. The Sentinels took off!

STORM
I know.

ROGUE
Where are the others?

STORM
I haven’t been able to reach them. I’m looking for them now. I want you two to head back to the jet.

KITTY
We can’t leave you!

STORM
That’s an order.

Kitty tugs on Rogue’s arm.

ROGUE
I’m coming with you.

STORM
No. It’s too dangerous. Just wait for me in the jet.

ROGUE
Storm, please. Let me do this. I want to help.

Storm concedes.

STORM
Okay. But you stay by my side. Kitty, prepare the jet.

KITTY
Got it!
(To Rogue)
Just be careful, okay?

Rogue nods. Kitty phases through the wall, as Storm leads Rogue through the corridor.

INT. TRASK INDUSTRIES – CONTAINMENT CELL

The metal door bursts open and falls to the ground. Storm, her eyes glistening white, walks in. Rogue follows.

Two guards aim their guns, but Storm sends a bolt of lightning at their hands. They fall back in pain.

Storm and Rogue move through the cells, towards Hank and Warren.

BEAST
Ororo!

STORM
Hank!

BEAST
Destroy the controls! Over there!

Storm walks over to a panel of buttons. She doesn’t know how it works. So she blasts it with lightning. It works. The panel explodes violently. The cells open up.

Hank and Warren walk out. Rogue pulls out a knife and cuts Warren’s rope. Beast, with a roar, splits his own.

BEAST
Where’s Kitty?

STORM
In the jet.

Angel draws the trigger. Storm heaves a sigh.

STORM
Do it.

He presses it. The room shakes violently.

INT. TRASK INDUSTRIES - POWER CORE

The explosives detonate in a brilliant white flash. A loud roar deafens our ears.

INT. TRASK INDUSTRIES – CONTAINMENT CELL

Hank, Warren, Storm and Rogue run past the rest of the empty cells towards the exit as the explosion rocks the facility. The ceiling is starting to collapse.

A piece of metal hits one of the mutant prisoners in the head, who falls to the ground. Rogue rushes to his side.

Storm, Beast and Angel have made it the other end. But the explosion is creeping up on them. The room behind them starts to smoke.

ROGUE
Storm! Hank!

Rogue is barely visible in the smoke, as a fire breaks out. She holds on to the mutant prisoner.

STORM
Rogue!

But the fire is spreading, and Rogue collapses. They disappear within the falling ruins.

STORM
No!

Beast prepares to close the blast doors as the fire rushes towards them.

BEAST
Storm, I have to!

STORM
NO! Not without Rogue!

But there is nothing she can do now. Angel holds Storm back, and Beast presses the switch. The blast doors clamp tightly shut.

BEAST
(Sighing)
Let’s go.

 

[TKing]

EXT. TRASK INDUSTRIES – GROUNDS

Beast, Angel and Storm rush towards the jet. Kitty greets them on the jet.

KITTY
Where’s Rogue?

No one answers. Storm is crying. She shakes her head.

KITTY
No!

Kitty slumps to her knees, Storm comforts her. Beast goes over to the cockpit and straps himself in, Angel beside him.

The jet takes off and disappears into the night.

EXT. NEW YORK CITY – NIGHT

It is a war zone. Cars are smoking ruins, buildings have collapsed, and fires spread everywhere. People run screaming through the wreckage, searching for loved ones.

INT. SAN FRANCISCO – UNDERGROUND – NIGHT

Families are huddled in blankets in the tube station, some are praying whilst others have falling to sleep. The sound of heavy footsteps can be heard from above.

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – LOUNGE – NIGHT

All the students are there, including: STEPFORD CUCKOOS, JONES, ARTIE, SIRYN and JUBILEE.

BOBBY AND COLOSSUS are also there, on the sofa. LOGAN, GAMBIT and DR. REYES stand by the doorway. Everyone is watching the news of Sentinel attacks across the nation.

Everyone looks up when the front door opens.

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – LOBBY – CONTINOUS

Storm, Beast, Angel and Shadowcat walk in. The others rush towards them.

LOGAN
It’s a disaster.

DR. REYES
Did you manage to shut down the facility?

ANGEL
For whatever good it did.

But Bobby isn’t paying attention.

BOBBY
Where’s Rogue?

No-one answers.

BOBBY (CONT’D)
Where is she?!

KITTY
She… she didn’t make it, Bobby.

BOBBY
What? No! NO!

He shakes his head.

LOGAN
This can’t be. NO!

Storm hugs him, as Kitty hugs Bobby.

BOBBY
Rogue…

The others look on, saddened. Down the stairs, comes MAGNETO.

BEAST
My stars and garters! What is he doing here?

DR. REYES
He came to help.

BEAST
Tell him we don’t need his help.

MAGNETO
Is that right? It’s a war out there. Sentinels searching for mutants, killing whenever they please. Knowing exactly where to strike.

Gambit bows his head, ashamed.

MAGNETO (CONT’D)
Believe it: we’re going to need all the help we can get.

BEAST
And why would you help us?

MAGNETO
I owe it to Charles. He believed in me, when I never could. I want to return the favour.

 

[TKing]

Final bit (heaves a heavy sigh of relief), at last:

EXT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – GROUNDS – DAY

The grounds are empty. As quiet as a tomb.

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – BOBBY’S BEDROOM – SAME TIME

Bobby is crying into his pillow, a picture of Rogue in his hand.

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – KITTY’S BEDROOM

Kitty and Colossus share a tear, in each other’s arms.

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – LOGAN’S BEDROOM

Logan lies on his back, staring up at the ceiling. He rolls onto his side, wiping away a tear.

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – STORM’S OFFICE

Storm, Beast, Dr. Reyes and Magneto are in the office, watching the news.

NEWS REPORTER (ON TV)
Early this morning, yet another mutant nest was found by the Sentinels. Reports are still coming in, but we believe that 12 mutants were killed in the operation. In just a couple hours, the Sentinels have captured over 100 mutants…

Beast switches the television off.

BEAST
I’m doing everything I can, and more, to have the Sentinels called off. But Trask has disappeared, and not even the President knows where to find him.

DR. REYES
They can’t do anything about it?

BEAST
I’m afraid not. It’s out of the President’s hands.

DR. REYES
What are we going to do? We can't stay here any longer. They know where to look. The children aren’t-

MAGNETO
No. I can use my powers to disrupt the Sentinel’s tracking systems within a few miles of the school. They’ll have no idea we're here.

BEAST
Nevertheless, the parents will be terrified for their children. We have to close the school, for their own safety.

MAGNETO
Are you mad? They will be safer with us than anywhere else.

BEAST
Tell that to their parents.

STORM
Hank is right. We have to do as they ask. We’ll tell the students later today.

Cecilia and Hank nod their agreement. The phone rings. Storm answers it.

STORM
Hello?

INT.HOSPITAL – WARD

MOIRA MACTAGGERT is on the phone. She looks back over at a comatose patient, sleeping on the bed behind her.

MOIRA
Ororo? It’s Moira. How are you?

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – STORM’S OFFICE

STORM
As well as can be expected. How are you?

INT.HOSPITAL – WARD

MOIRA
I’m fine. Actually, there was something I’ve been meaning to tell you…

She smiles.

MOIRA (CONT’D)
The Professor’s alive.

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – STORM’S OFFICE

Storm almost drops the phone. She is speechless.

BEAST
Ororo? What is it?

INT.HOSPITAL – WARD

MOIRA
Ororo? Ororo?

Behind her, the man suddenly leaps up, gasping for air. Sweat pours down his forehead, as he announces:

MAN/PROFESSOR
Scott! I’ve found Scott!

FADE TO BLACK.

 

[TKing]

So, what did you guys think of it? I'm currently writing a Young X-Men script, but once I finish that, I'll write the sequel.

Okay cool... can't wait to read that... I wanted to do that to... but I decided to make a Rogue spin-off book.... will Rogue be in your Young X-Men or not?

Yes, Rogue will be in my Young X-Men spin-off. In fact she's one of the main characters.

Although, my two scripts (X4 and Young X-Men) have nothing in common. They both take place after X3, but neither is related.

Just thought you all should know!

Thanks very much Koalah. To be honest I wasn't very happy with the last couple of scenes, but overall, I'm glad people liked it.

After writing the Young X-Men spin-off, I will write an X5. Trust me, it will be bigger and better.

There'll be more of Rogue and her powers. A new villain will be on the scene with sinister motives, and amid all that the X-Men must protect themselves from the Sentinels.

Nice job TKing. I liked your semi-cliffhanger ending, can't wait to see were you take the X-Men in pt. 5.

Was shocked at the implied death of Rogue, but I'm optimistic at seeing her again.

I absolutely loved that! YOU HAVE TO MAKE A SEQUEL! I hope Rogue got her powers back at the last second and that mutant who she tryed to help she touched and went SUPER ROGUE? Yeh.. .. im 14 dont laugh at me!

^Yeah, I know I was surprised how short it was too. When I was writing it, I didn't realise how quick the final battle was. I just wanted to get from A to B.
