Meh. Doesn't really matter to me. I kind of like Klum as Mysterio, because he adds an effect with his teleportation ability. I think I'm a little more than disappointed with David's little explanation on Quentin Beck in the latest issue of FNSM.

I like the new look for Beck's Mysterio. Klum is a loser that has no right to be wearing the fishbowl. Man was I disappointed when he didnt die at the end of "I Hate a Mystery." I dont mind Berkhart, but who needs him now that Beck seems to be back? Daniel can be Quentin's toady.

Quentin Beck--the original and STILL the best Mysterio. But why oh why is he now apparently an agent of hell? (For that matter why is Francis Klum still alive?) It would've been so much simplier to have Quentin's whole suicide be a fake, using it as a means to retire from supervillainry and has only come back out of retirement after he learned Spidey revealed his identity and wants payback (remember he almost unmasked him back in ASM #24 until Jonah ruined everything...classic).

Yeah, I know, but does the idea of him being an undead agent of hell really work (which is has also been used often in comics)? The last thing Spider-Man comics need are more supernatural elements, which don't really work in the long run anyway. At least the original Mysterio is back, because it was a HUGE mistake to kill him off in the first place, especially since it happened in Daredevil and that Kevin Smith actually didn't have permission to do so.

But if there was any one guy who would fake death, it would be Mysterio. The grandest illusion of all would be to convince the world you were dead.

That's what I would like to have seen. Quentin convinces his enemies that he's dead, and then convinces his enemies that his ghost is haunting them and tormenting them for all eternity.
