Namor the Sub-Mariner

Namor looks amazing....Kudos to them for trying to make him look different from Aquaman

He already did though. By giving him a beard and moustache they made him more similar not less.

Yeah, I'd have preferred shorter hair and no beard. Bonus points for a widow's peak.

See I don't understand your comment. Aquaman's community is more medieval, dare I say Greek myth looking. Namor's has never been drawn that way from what I can see.

The only visuals he shares with a DC character is his hairline (Black Adam, Sinestro).

Good points. I was referring to Namor in the films though, not the character from the comics.

I was thinking that Marvel would want to differentiate the entire concept of the character from Aquaman. Going with the Talocan angle accomplishes this goal nicely.

Curious(besides Namor who is half human) are Atzlantians (Tlālōcāns) only blue when outside the water with breathing apparatus?

Your not the only one who noticed so good attention to detail.
I noticed that too and that’s a really cool detail. I’m wondering if we’re getting a scene where
when Namor is born the kingdom is happy about the birth of the prince until they take him out of the water and *shock* he’s still skin colored. Drama and scandal ensues. That could be a pretty good scene.
Though I don’t know how much they’ll focus on Namor as an outsider to his people. I’m sure they’ll deal with it a little bit but with everything else going on in this movie, they might have to limit focus on it.

Yeah it is a pretty cool detail. I think like you said they’ll probably focus a little on him being an outsider but will save that for a solo film, if Marvel is able to do one. I don’t know if Marvel fully has the rights back or if it’s more like the Hulk type deal. That scene you described is all kinds of dope and I would like it if the film included something like that.

I wonder will Marvel tone down the infamous Sue Storm/Namor interactions. I can't see them doing that in the MCU because a lot of people have deemed it toxic & the MCU rarely focuses on romance. Disney is a "family" company after all. Will they even show Namor being promiscuous with fish? Lol I just have no expectation of them showing that side of his personality. I saw folks on social media being hyped about them showing him as a ladies man. I could be wrong but ...good luck with that.

Him being a ladies man is as far as I think they will go, the whole thing with him and Sue storms. They may show hints of chemistry between the two's interaction. But that's about it, I don't think they will explore it anymore than that.

Right.
Like we aren't getting this lol. Poor social media folks

I’m also really jazzed to see Attuma. Such a great villain who just for some reason keeps getting disrespected in the comics. But he’s essential

He'll make plenty of ladies and men happy with his appearance in this movie, but they're definitely skipping the whole Sue Storm storyline.

No way, they’ll at least chuck in one lingering glance. There’s absolutely no way there will be no chemistry between Sue and namor

Makes a lot sense to me for Tlaocan

Really excited to see him in the movie. From what little we've seen, the changes they've made seem really good.

They’ve given him some intensity which I really like, plus the look is a lot more interesting than I expected it would be.

Yeah definitely! They’ve done a lot of work to avoid just being called an Aquaman rip off

I watched Aquaman last week and enjoyed it and now I'm even more curious how Marvel is going to pull Namor off. I will say the underwater scenes in the Wakanda Forever trailer look more realistic than the ones in Aquaman. But that's probably because they actually filmed underwater for some of those scenes. I don't know if they filmed a lot underwater, if at all for Aquaman. I have a lot of faith in Ryan Coogler. Anyway Aquaman was very colorful and fun so I can't wait to see what Tlaocan looks like.

They should consult the expert of underwater scenes, James Cameron, for Aquaman and Namor.

Yeah me too. I wonder if they can give him his own movie if he really takes off? I would love to see tiger shark
I really hope they have the rights to do that and then go ahead with it. At this point I’m expecting him to go down a storm.

yeah hopefully by differentiating him from Aquaman they don’t just give him lots of marvel quips like “he’s standing right behind me isn’t he?” type thing haha.

but I really love the visuals so far. I mean, he has a throne made from a megalodon’s jaw. That’s so epic
