"Nancy Drew" Vs. "Fantastic Four 2" On June 15

Im sure the very small kids and under 11's will enjoy it but it's not an overly serious threat to the FF movie

I'm sitting here with a huge Nancy Drew fan, and she begs to differ on a few things there BB:hyper: . lol

1). Just as all of you were reading comic books at a young age, many, many, many were reading Nancy Drew. There will be a wider audience than you think.

2). BUT, it won't be enough to be much of a threat, that can be agreed upon.

:yay:

lol i see,the reason i said that was that i read in the thread for the trailer that they had made a film that was very removed from the books that people grew up on

I had no idea MT was a Nancy fan:woot::cwink:

Oh my God that Nancy Drew trailer looks like crap. Looks like a horrible Brittany Spears movie. Looks worse than The Cat in the Hat...hell it looks worse then From Justin to Kelley. That's not even anti-programming...it's anti-film-making...below McG.
And it'll clean up, because moms will take their daughters, and fans of the book series will see it.

I don't think that crap is gonna make any more money than Nanny McPhee. Then again Scooby Doo did well.

Everyone thought Zoom would do awesome too. LOL Hell even Sky High didn't do that well and I thought that was a great kids film.

Overreact much? Its not that bad really.

I was shocked at how bad it was. It's horrible or put it this way...it's not something that will compete with FF and it's certainly not something those who grew up reading Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys will be happy about.

I agree, its not that bad.it is after all geared toward young teens, and the trailer reflected it.

It looks geared towards kids under 10 to me young teens nowadays would probably shun that film.

Nanny McPhee made about 80 million if i'm not correct so thats a lot for a crappy kids movie.

Whi knows it could be Devil Wears Parada/Superman Returns all over again.

People thought fox was dumb for releasing DWP against SR and we all know how that turned out. DWP made over a 100 milion Domestic while SR barely made it to 200 Domestic.

and what the hell happen i just lost over 400 posts?

Nancy Drew is targeting a different demo than Prada. Prada targeted teen-adult females while Drew is targeting teen-young girls.

no kidding. this is definitely not to be compared with DWP vs. Superman.

Superman disappointed in action, I'm pretty sure FF will deliver in action AND DWP is for teen girls to adults women, judging from the trailer, Drew will be for young teen GIRLS only, a tiny ass demographic.

I'm not seeing anything past $10M opening weekend, $15 max.

me too. I read Drew and the Hardys for years. I thought Drew was like 18?

Nancy Drew is going bomb, it doesn't matter its appeal.

Nancy Drew fans will hate this movie. That preview had nothing to do with the Nancy Drew books.

This just looks like one of those bad Hillary Duff teeny bopper movies, and they throw the Nancy Drew name in just to get attention.

^ That's an even better way to put it and those films make no money. It looks like the studio just paid for the Nancy Drew name to make a teeny bopper film out of it. I liked the old Drew and Hardy books. They were cool making you feel like you were solving a mystery and they were always in some sort of danger. This looks bad. Inspector Gadget 2 bad.

I don't think Nancy Drew is a threat either. I used to read the series as a kid but never really got that into them.
