The daughter of an Well-Known Pastor of an Arizona Church had a vision not to going ago. She decided to act on that vision. Four Days after, She met to talk with President Bush at the White House. President Bush listened to her vision and has agreed to have a "National Day of Repentance" as well Bush will be participating during this Sacred Day.

Churches around the United States, as well as the world will be Uniting together and laying it down at the alter. This is really exciting...and I just can't wait to be a part of it! My church, Greenwell Springs Baptist Church will be hosting the RivaL for all of Louisiana, so if anyone lives in Louisiana I just wanted to let you know that.

I have been told not to give out too much details, b/c there are some good things "in-the-works" and I don't want to spoil that for fellow Christians. And in a couple of months or so, you'll be hearing more about this in the media. Larry King and CNN know about it, but I believe they'll be talking about it later on. Anyways that is all for now.:up:

When?
April 2008

There goes separation of Church and State. I hate this country.

I had a vision once. But it came after I drank 3 8 ounce glasses of Irish Whisky.

What's sacred about a day that was just recently made up?

Perhaps.....Something to do with a "commitment to God".

good to see bush still using his time in office wisely.

(sarcasm)

i mean seriously, im not religious, but shouldnt you be repenting everyday? or at least weekly?

yep. Repentance and Forgiveness are a little different. The difference is that when you repent...."You turn away from the sin you were in and take a new path that God has set for you"...Forgiveness is "a sigh of seeing that you've sinned and want to be forgiveness so you don't have a guilty conscience."

Yes all should ask for forgiveness and repent when in sin. That should be daily. Yes I 110% agree with totally.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find the President of the United States in creating a National Day of Repentance a bit disturbing?

While it is only just a holiday, I must admit, it does set a bad precedent. The Government is to in no way interfere with the goings on of any religion (unless they break the law), and no religoon is supposed to interfere with the goings on of the government.

What I find "Disturbing" is Where AMERICA is today...Morals, Beliefs, Politics, etc...If the Founders of America saw where we were today, they would be totally and utterly sickened by how people threw away their values...
I'm sick and tired of America just thrusting Sin Upon young children, teen, young adults, etc... "At one time, America did have a head on It's Shoulders."

It's not the nation's responsibility to tell people to "get right with a god-claim"

I agree that the founders would be sickened today, but it would mostly be by the creation of an Office of God or whatever they created in this White House.

Also, I doubt they'd be very fond of MTV. Well, Ben Franklin might, but just for the scantly clad women.

So are you implying that God has no right to impact our lives by working through His people to open the eyes of the world's heart?

This world just doesn't get it....This is not your world, nor mine, nor the presidents. It is God...He created it....Everyone on either that has lived, or is living, is totally and solely b/c of Him... You have your right not to be believe that and I'm not going to try to sway your believe....b/c God will show you in many ways that "He is and has Always been" The only thing hindering you from understanding and realizing the "truth" is try to live with your eyes sown shut. The Healer has come to set His Child free from pain and deliver Hope to a Dying World.

Why is the world dying? B/c for sometime...people have given into the "little white lie" that Satan has sooo intelligently administered. Sin is the #1 killer and make no mistake Our World is Dying and maybe not in 100, 200, 300 years will it cease to exists, but it will not be here forever.

So it's time that America gets right with God. Period. It doesn't matter what religion nor what race a person is...We must come together and accept the price Jesus paid on Calvary.

You are the one that chooses where you go when you die, so why don't we all ask ourselves..."What's it going to be?"

Yeah because the Founders were such great Christians.:whatever:
You want to take about values, take a look at what "values" they had.

I find nothing wrong with the President of the United States being a devout Christian. I even don't have any problem with "Under God" in the Pledge of Allegeance or "In God We Trust" on our money.

But he shouldn't be basically imposing his views onto other people with this National Day of Repentance bulls**t. And I am sick and tired of him doing it with his faith-based initiative crap.

The United States is not a Christian nation. It's a secular one. The Constitution was written as a secular document. The First Amendment stated that the government would have no involvement in religion. It's bad precident on what Bush is doing here. And it isn't the government's responsibility to play the role of moral police. The only thing that can do that is ourselves. We determine our morals. We determine how to live.

Several Founding Fathers such as Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, and others would be disgusted by your attitude. Here's a little article that shows that they were not religious people:

memo to threadmaker: it is unlikely the higher power that exists is anything like the god you think you know.

Theocracy...Look it up. A nation that is governed by God. Divinely Governed.

The Founding Fathers were completely opposed to a theocracy. They were very secularist. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights are secularist documents. Not Christian documents.

Oh great, a nation governed like a Roman Catholic Church, based on lies and discrimination and deceit. Can't wait. Oh, we already have that? Damn.

The founding fathers wanted anything but a theocracy. Well, almost anything.

So are you implying that God has no right to impact our lives by working through His people to open the eyes of the world's heart?

Blah...Blah...Blah...

I wasn't implying anything. It's not the government's job to get people "right" with whatever deity you worship.

That's solely the realm of religion

Is there anything else worthwhile about MTV?

My Super Sweet 16.

Only so I can see rich spoiled brats spend thousands of dollars on crappy rappers, helicopter entrances no one sees, and ugly dresses. Occationally one of them has a nice dress and tiara, but this is the exception.

Oh, BTW, I love these threads. It reminds me that the world is not yet past religious persecution and someone will always be there saying 'I'm right, you're wrong, join us or be prepared for hell.' And some of them so stubborn and polite, too. I had a hot Mormon approach me the other week.

I'm Wiccan. Have a field day :yay:  .
