The Mercury Music Prize is a music award given annually for the best British or Irish album of the previous 12 months. It was established in 1992 as an alternative to the industry-dominated Brit awards.

I made a thread for last years awards and it died after about 10 posts, hopefully this one will do better.

Got to be arctic monkeys for me, love the album! Mardy Bums a classic! Fake tales of san francisco ANTHEM!!!!
 
I only really know Arctic Monkeys. I'm not hardcore enough. :p
 
Blah, just saw Muse were on the list. Still, Arctic Monkeys have had the bigger impact.
 
Muse - Black Holes and Revelations. Fantastic album.
 
Well, in case anyone wanted to know, Arctic Monkeys won for their album. Feel free to continue voting though.
