NBA LIVE 2010 or NBA 2K10?

Which is going to be better? Predictions? Anyone? Kobe on the cover of 2k vs. Dwight on the cover of NBA Live.


Personally I like the NBA Live better, because it has the FIBA and Olympic games.

You arent going to get too many responses on this, not many sports ppl around here.

Anyway, iv gone with NBA 2K since 01, Live has just been down right terrible. I forsee that trend continuing with this yrs game. I dont think there is much info on whats gonna be new with 2K this year, i think Live has released a few tid bits of info. One thing i want for 2K is even more player specific tendencies. Id like to see LeBrons and Dwights pregame rituals. These are going to be in Live 2010 and i imagine theyll end up in 2K's game as well. I want better presentation all around. From reg season to playoffs to the championship. Give me team entrances during the championship, half time shows, things like that. Better low post defense and more realistic low post stats. IE i dont want a team scoring 90 of their 110 points in the paint. Id also like the ability to edit EVERY aspect of my player. More equipment options.

I hate that Dwight is on the cover of Live, i was hoping he'd make the 2K10 cover but oh well, ill just get a custom cover like i do each yr.

NBA Live has great features (EA Sports usually delivers on that front) but 2K has better gameplay.

Its a shame though. EA does the Madden, NHL, and FIFA games so well but their NBA Live series hasn't lived up to the same standard.

Well their Madden games have been some of the worst sports titles on the market but i think thats gonna change this year. I was a big Madden fan last gen, but they just haven't delivered this gen. They got a new lead designer and Madden 2010 looks to be really good. They added a TON of new presentation. Stoked for this yrs game.

i've always bought 2k since 2k7.

live is garbage but i hear it's been changing up for the better this year.

i might skip basketball this year though; i haven't played much nba 2k8 since i got it at launch and will probably pick up madden 2010 and mlb the show '10 instead.

NBA Live hasn't been good in quite some time. I've been going with the 2K series and I've yet to be disappointed.

nba 2k9 was one of my fav games last year, so i'm likely gonna go with 2k10. Sounds like Live is actually making some improvements though (by taking a 2k guy to be the lead...)u.

Yea MLB: The Show is fantastic. It has a few odd animations but overall its a fantastic game.

Yes, but none of the All Star games are actually tied into your franchise. So if you are playing a franchise and All Star Weekend comes up, you just play the All Star game. You can do the 3 pt contest and dunk contest outside of franchise tho.

Oh that sucks, they should add that into the franchise, or it's useless. They should also add the basketball Olympic games into the franchise like NBA Live does.

yea i wish they'd add that into the franchise. Have an All Star weekend instead of just the All Star game. As for the Olympic games, i say keep that out. It just takes up space. Maybe they can have the team, but they dont need to have a separate feature for the Olympic games, at least not in a non Olympic year. NBA Live is the king of pointless features, hopefully they will buck that trend and focus on making the game better.

Since my team Lakers won the Finals this year, I'm thinking about getting a NBA game for next season. I'm leaning toward 2k over Live because this series has gotten better reviews than Live in the past, even though EA seems keen on improving Live, but it may not be enough to beat their biggest competition. I still wish we'd get NFL 2k and maybe EA will be forced to improve their Madden finally.

Ah man you and be both! Iv been getting updated rosters for NFL 2K5 for the last 5 yrs, but i think im gonna make the jump back to Madden this yr. Im liking all of the improvements they are making.


Yea EA is deff improving Live, but i think 2K is just too far ahead for EA to ever catch up. 2K's player models, animations and controls are just flat out better than whats seen in Live. Live usually has the fluff and features tho. The last season or 2, 2K just upgraded and tweaked what they had. I cant wait to hear whats big for this yrs game.

Why would you think that?

2K has been the better rated, and better selling series since its inception. In terms of pure basketball play, 2K IS the better game. Period. No arguments.

With that said tho, it appears Live is catching up and catching up quick. 2K is gonna need to really innovate in the next year or 2 to maintain that lead.
