šŸ€ NBA: Let’s Get Hoop’d

I get that Portland drafted for need and Sam Bowie was as dominant a center as Hakeem or any of the other collegiate greats in the 80’s aside from maybe Ewing. He just had the bad fortune of a gruesome leg injury immediately into his career and he was a punchline after that. But had he remained healthy who knows what would’ve happened.

I mean, yeah, you draft Jordan over him, no question with the benefit of hindsight. But it isn’t really fair to call him a bust and one of the worst draft choices in history, as he was as can’t miss a prospect on paper as you could get. But there’s no crystal ball in the scout sheet to predict broken legs with significant damage.
Yeah. I don't know if I agree that I would have compared him to Hakeem, but thought he was around a Ewing level player. Ewing actually surprised me when I saw how good he was offensively. Coming out of college, I didn't see that. Olajuwon, however, I thought was otherworldly. Even when Georgetown beat Houston way back when, Hakeem was unreal....dude looked like he had springs in his shoes. I think a case could be made that the Rockets made the right pick.

I thought Ewing was more dominant in college, even though Hakeem had the best footwork of any big man maybe ever.

But I was obviously not the best evaluator of talent when I watched them for the limited time that I did while they were in college and I was in grade school. Lol.

@Zarex

Now THAT'S a HAIRCUT!!! I'll bet Brunson is the most popular guy in NY right now. I'll also bet he could get elected Mayor right now......and would certainly be more honest than the incumbent. :funny:

That's a great deal for the Knicks. With the Celtics coming back down to earth - I could see them finishing in the 50s this year due to the Porzingis injury - the East should be much more competitive. The Knicks, Pacers, and Sixers all have a legit shot at the East crown.

Also the healthy Bucks and the resurging Cavs and Magic!

I wonder how many 2nd round rooks are getting multi year contracts this year......

Gary Trent Jr goes to the Bucks on a one year deal. Lakers really are asleep at the wheel.

Yeah....heard about that. I don't think he would have made much of a difference. More accurately, the Lakers "have been" asleep at the wheel.

This is 2nd time that he was getting bought out by the Jazz..haha

So...TNT apparently matched its bid with the Amazon Prime package deals.

Curious, which one will be picked by NBA?
Either way, next season will be the last by Inside the NBA crew as Barkley is retiring after next season.

Welpp....there will be no NBA on TNT no more after next season wraps.

Starting 2025/2026, it will be NBA on ESPN/ABC, Amazon, and NBA on NBC

But seems TNT will take appropriate action regarding this matter

Not quite familiar with this but heard that NBA on NBC was huge back then .

Looking forward of hearing this with the new generation of players.
