Drama series "Life" will makes its premiere on NBC in Fall 2007 on Wednesdays at 10:00 p.m. EST.

From Rand Ravich and Far Shariat, the executive producers of the feature film "The Astronaut's Wife," and David Semel, who directed the pilot of NBC's "Heroes", Life is a new drama about a detective who is given a second chance. Damian Lewis ("Band of Brothers") stars on Life as complex, offbeat Detective Charlie Crews, who returns to the force after years in prison, thanks to close friend and attorney Constance Griffiths (Melissa Sagemiller, "Sleeper Cell"), after serving time for a crime he didn't commit.

The cast of Life also includes Sarah Shahi ("Rush Hour 3") as Charlie's skeptical, demanding partner, Robin Weigart (HBO's "Deadwood") as their hard-hitting lieutenant, and Adam Arkin ("Chicago Hope") as former cellmate Ted Early.

Life is an NBC Universal Television Studio production. Rand Ravich is executive producer and writer; Far Shariat is executive producer; David Semel is executive producer and director on the pilot.

soon to be cancelled . i said it first

I agree with Bullets. It actually looks really good and really interesting and I'd love to watch it, but like Heroes I am not going to risk getting into it only to face cancellation. If it does well I will catch up through re-runs or DVDs next summer.

I am just going to watch it for Sarah Shahi. She is so, so, so, so hot!

Same reason I didn't watch "Smith" (axed after 3) and "Jericho" (you know the story) last year.

...I don't know what to do??

it has a real interesting premise. I kinda wish they used the plot for a movie instead.

I read a review that said the acting was "wooden" and a "waist of good talent".....I know what that means, and it's just one writer's opinion, but it makes it harder for me to want to tune in. :csad:

Thanks to the beauty of Dish Network's "Dish on Demand", and the genius of NBC for utilizing this feature, I just saw the following pilots with no commercial interruptions:
  • Chuck
  • Journeyman
  • Bionic Woman
  • Life
I am stating this, because of all the pilots I saw, "Life" was the best. Of course this is a subjective call on my behalf, but I think people need to give this show a chance. Since most of you will be tuning in for Bionic Woman already, just stay along for this show. I want this show to thrive, as there is a rich and deep background for every character to explore - not just the main one.

Yeah they are some pretty bad actors. Mostly the girls...actually all the girls, except for the blonde, forgot her name.

I am a huge fan of Damian Lewis, but even so, I was really surprised at how great that pilot was. I hope this one stays around for a long while, even though I know the prospect of that happening is minimal.:csad:

Also, it's nice to see that Sara Shahi isn't just another pretty face.

Am I the only who really, really likes this show? Between all the new shows NBC has come up with, this and Chuck are the only ones I actually look forward to watching. Maybe it's because I want to see the conspiracy that put him in prison found and resolved.

It's also like a cooler and more serious version of Monk, except he's also battling the people and the department around him, and not just his inner demons.

Easily the best new show of the fall season. The acting by Damien Lewis carries this show. He is the best actor on it. The humor is funny and well placed (" I am not attached to this car." and in the next episode "I was not attached to that car.") I will tune in every week.

Just got done watching the Pilot. First off Brooke Langton, & Sarah Shahi should not be on the same show. That is way to much Hottness for one television to contain. I pray to god they don't show up in the same scene. I may end up having to buy a new TV.

Anyway, the show itself is awesome. The main character is great. He has an intense peacefullness about him. LIke he could kill a man, but also hug him at the same time. Very intense.

I couldn't help but agree, Carnage. Like in the pilot episode, where he held that dying criminal and laid him down. Very touching moment.

Anyone know how the ratings are for this show? I hope they are good.:(

From what I've read. The show did pretty good on it's premiere night, winning it's time slot.

Link.

As for the 2nd episode. I have no idea if a 5.7/10 is a good or bad thing.
Link.

As for the show. I love it. I love how each case have ended. Especially the first episode where the suspect think he's in the clear and all he has to do is serve a few months for some misdemeanor. Then later, at the prison, Crews basically points him (the suspect) out to the victim's father & his group. That **** was awesome :word:

Anyone notice that it was a reunion of Bull & Winters from Band of Brothers :woot:

And what's with the female hot cop being a **** at night ? Is it possible she's a rape victim  I mean because I saw the same exact behavior in Saving Grace. Where the cop, played by Holly Hunter, is a **** on her off time sleeping with anyone & everyone with a dick. Then in the season finale it's revealed why she does it. It's all to capture the guy who raped her many years back & left her for dead. Idk, just a thought.

I actually didn't get around to this show until this weekend but I'm glad I did. I had it dvr'd and watched it, and was very pleasantly surprised. For sure a keeper, hopefully it sticks around.

I have to work when they show this on NBC on Thursday nights, but I catch the re-runs on USA.

Damn good show

First off....represent the Band of Brothers love.:word:

And second, I'm honestly not sure what is going on with her, and I hope it sticks around long enough to find out, because I know it could make for some really great TV. Especially with Cruise trying to understand his partner's problems a bit more.

It's SO House... the premise is an Unorthodox Cop instead of an Unorthodox Doctor... yeah, there's a lot of divergence as Life pulls a lot more out of the premise than House does...

I'm waiting for the Unorthodox Fireman show next fall. I can't wait to see America's new favorite firehouse chief calmly relaxing in the firehouse while all his subordinates go "No! The building's burning down!" And he's all like "Relax... it's all under control!" And then the walls fall off providing easy access to the trapped vicitms.

But it's not like the creators of House created the concept of an unorthodox doctor. There was a movie called MASH that had a couple unorthodox doctors

Ten bucks says that His partner. Is the little girl that may have witnessed the crime he went to jail for.
