Arrow is going Darhk in Season 4.

Neal McDonough is joining the CW superhero drama in the pivotal (and series-regular) role of Damien Darhk, TVLine has learned exclusively.

The ominously named Darhk played an unseen role at the close of Arrow Season 3, as Ra’s Al Ghul regaled Oliver with a tale about his colleague-turned-adversary. Darhk even paid Starling City a visit, but got outta Dodge before causing any commotion (and before being seen by viewers).

Arrow producers are billing Damien as “a mysterious and sophisticated villain, and an adversary of the late Ra’s Al Ghul. Now the leader of his own clandestine group, this cunning foe will prove to be one of the Arrow’s greatest challenges.”

McDonough’s recent TV gigs include a starring role in TNT’s short-lived Mob City and arcs on FX’s Justified and USA Network’s Suits.

Arrow Season 4 bows on Oct. 7.

Cool, he's great. And he's proven that he can play menacing villains before. Hopefully the writing is up to par this time around.

This is interesting as **** to me for some reason.

Let's see how he does as Darhk.

Good actor. I hope he winds up being a better villain than what we got in Season 3 with Ra's Al Ghul.

Dum Dum Dugan? I can't believe they got him. He will be great.

I liked him. But, please don't make him Felicity's father.

Ya Damien Darhk as Felicity's father is just so damn lazy and lame. Make Felicity's father a close confident of his, if you're gonna make him a villain.

Plus the way they had Ra's talking about Damien it would be really odd for us to believe he stopped in Vegas, got married to a cocktail waitress and had a kid.

They really need to make her dad The Calculator.

That may seem odd to you, but comics fans are still supposed to believe that Talia Al Ghul is the result of Ra's grooving out at a Woodstock concert.

Really hope he's a well focused villain, and that they stagger some of their arcs like they did in season two instead of season three. Give us objectives for three or four episodes, and have them lost or won, and use that to move the main story forward.

McDonough is NO STRANGER to Green Arrow.
He voiced Ollie/GA in the 2010 short.

Now this is some good writing. The calculator is perfect for that role. But I highly doubt it. Did you see season 3?

Good casting.... Hopefully his character can help get this show back on track....

Neal McDonough is a really good actor, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he brings to the role of Damien. I know he's good at portraying villains. I've also really enjoyed him in the MCU as Dum Dum Dugan.

I love Neal (he was scary as hell on Justified). But it amazes me that the writers of Arrow think that spelling "dark" in a weird way will somehow make this character's name sound less stupid.

I hope that he'll be more of the type of enemy that plays on the heroes minds, rarather than being an all out fighter. We saw bits of it in Ra's but Oli just pretended he was under his influence.

Marvel wasted him in a small and pointless role. I know he's not a huge name, but he could have played a more interesting character.

Marvel did the same thing with Jamie Alexander and Edris Elba.

Yeah, true. Alexander I've never been impressed with (although she looks awesome in Blindspot so that might change my opinion of her) but Elba should have been saved for a more interesting character.
