Since I have not played any game that was new for the last 2-3 years, I need YOUR opinions...on what I need to go pick up that came out between 2006 and now.

Malice, you have to check out Fallout 3. You won't be disappointed.

I love strategy FPS...RPG...hell alot.
I know I will try Sins of a Solar Empire.....
I imagine Fallout 3...

That list up there pretty much covers everything. I'd suggest getting Fallout 3 and Left 4 Dead first, as both those games are amazing. Spore, despite the hate it gets, is also a fun game with nothing wrong with it if you aren't expecting it to be the second coming or something.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I've not played Fallout 3 but I've heard it plays exactly the same. I think it's more graphically impressive because of it's setting. Lot of great mods, too.

Fallout 3 and Oblivion play similarly, but F3 is more fun to me because it's gorier and funnier and it has guns.
