anyone know how to hook up a 40gb PS3 to the internet? like with wi-fi or something? help?:huh:

First off, do you have wireless router?

If you do, then you can use Wi-Fi.

If you don't have a router, just unplug the internet cable from the computer you are using and then plug it into your PS3.

i have wireless, and i use an internet card. will that work?

Is the internet floating around your home and your computer finds it and uses it? Or do you have to use a wire to connect to the internet.

If it floats around wirelessly, then you have a wireless router and therefor can just find it and connect to it with your PS3.

If you need a wire, then you can connect the wire to the PS3 and get it to work that way.

like, i start it up, put the card in the computer, start the loading screen for it and it syas mobile device found and i have to press a button to connect.

Okay, I'm not sure about your situation but try something:

Go to Settings.
Under Settings go to Network Settings.
Go to Test Connection.

See if it works. If it does, then you can connect your PS3 wirelessly (Since your laptop does not need a wire to connect to the internet, I assume you do have some wireless connection). If not, then I'd do what the others say. If you don't have an ethernet cable, buy one. Connect one end to your internet modem and one to the back of your PS3.

See if that works.

Is the card from a cellphone company (i.e. Sprint, ATT&T)?

ok, i'll try those. thanks! :word::word:

yes it is

Then you can not hook up the PS3, because you do not have internet at your house. The card you have uses the cellphone company's web access like a cellphone. You need actual internet hooked up to your house for the PS3 to access it.
