You know what pisses me off about netflix? They're charging a lot more now, trying to get people to rely mostly on instant watch, but the main thing I use netflix for is watching AMC/HBO shows, and they don't have a single one available! It's also why I need to have out a large number of discs at the same time. Not to mention any good movie isn't going to be instant watch. What are they thinking? How about getting some quality material first, and then changing the policy?

I think they're trying to hash out deals with the studios when it comes to instant watch. But I agree, their library for instant watching needs to get better.

I'm watching mostly Animes I've never seen right now. So the Instant is working for me. But I also get one disc at time to watch stuff that is not available for streaming.

Heard that they might be going all instant watch. If that is true I may drop them. It's true that their selection needs to get a lot better before they can stop mailing current discs. If you can't get the new stuff right away, then they'd be no different than HBO, you know?

In about 2 years they will drop DVDs from the report I saw

I would love HBO and AMC to put their shows on Netflix Instant Watch. I was happy when BSG was put on there. And I love that Spartacus is there too.

 I've seen several AMC shows on my netflix list

i cant wait for the day their whole library is capable of instant view. i love the instant view, but its not good enough now to rely solely on it. but there is PLENTY of entertaining movies available.

ive seen Mad Men on Instant Watch, but its not up there for long...same with Breaking Bad

ive had Netflix for close to 3 years now and I think the Watch Instant has vastly improved in the past 10-12 months...they did just sign a deal with Paramount and LionsGate to get stuff to streaming quicker

they do also have a "Watch Instant" only plan for the poors :hehe:

Netflix in Canada is just streaming, no discs. They just launched last fall here. $8 a month with the first month free. The library is limited but it has Mad Men but no Breaking Bad.

some stuff goes up for a little bit and then comes off, some things just stay up there

the whole of SG-1 and Atlantis are available via Watch Instant, along with Ark of Truth and Continuum

Do you not have DVD on your plan? Even the one at a time?

I have the DVD one at a time plan. But with Instant Watch, you can watch an entire season in a whole sitting if you wanted (I know, I'm greedy).

I agree. I thought about dropping to just instant watch but the library isn't enough to sustain me yet. Plus, the DVD one at a time plan is still cheaper than watching video on demand on amazon.

Netflix streaming library is way too limited and they really need a search feature that you can search for movies that can be streamed while weeding out those that can't.

They do. On their website, and through their PS3/X-Box apps.

 There's always been a "instant stream feature". You go to their site, and they have a "instant" and a "DVD" search. When you hit "instant", it's everything that can be streamed, and if you go to DVD, it's DVD's that will be sent to you. Also, if your browsing DVD's, and see that you can put it in your instant, then that will also be put into your instant que.

I think it will be quite a while yet before Netflix goes ALL streaming.
Right now, if it's available on streaming it will auto go into your streaming queue, but for the most part Netflix hasn't changed...they are still a DVD company with a rapidly growing streaming collection (despite what they may say)

Oh, I wanted to add....I DO stream a lot more than I get dvd's through the mail. But that's only because the shows are newer or the films have recently come out and still haven't hit netflix. (I download those)

HBO will never be on Netflix, because they feel Netflix should be more expensive. $20 a month is what they want from Netflix to charge and they don't seem to want to budge on that.

Damn, HBO is arrogant.

Demanding Netflix charge more just for adding HBO content? HBO is sorely overrated anyways.

If no HBO is keeping it at $10 a month, then I hope HBO is never added.

if I can get Band of Brothers, The Pacific, and Entourage on Watch Instant

(and thats just my short list)

I will happily pay it
