Hey I am going to finally get a Batman tattoo but I am having trouble picking out the right one. I have narrowed it down to these two pictures. Can yall give me your input on which one would look the best. This is going to go in the center part of my upper back.

This one will be done in black and gray insted of red.

Insted of the tree in the background it will be replaced by a full moon and bats flying around it.

The second one... but seriously :whatever:

2nd one... and yay for geek tattoos, i have 2!! :D

2nd one will really wow the ladies.....

I'm all for paying homage to your fav character by way of body art. But why those two pics? They're too busy... I can almost guarantee that people's response won't be, "Oh cool!" it'll be, "What the **** is that supposed to be?"

Yeah, I agree with Brutal. A tattoo should make a statement, select a pose you really like. The background shouldn't be picked at random either. Neither of those pictures really look like they'd make for good tattoos.

I agree.

A friend of mine has the classic yellow-oval bat-symbol on his right shoulder.

It's to the point and classy. The tatt is not to big, or small, and simply says "Batman fan."

Side note: I want the modern bat-symbol on one of my shoulder blades. :o

Simple works best with tattoos ... the colour may not work well, but depends on your skin tone. I would go with the second one with nothing else if those are the two choices ...

Simple isn't always best for tattoos. In fact, I'd say that's the opposite of the truth. Elaborate tattoos that are done well with good coloring are the best. But if you're simply looking for something to say "I like Batman" I would go with something a lot more simple.

Its gonna be on your body for the rest of your life...not ours hombre.

centre part of your upper back?????

only symmetrical tatts should be placed there...

i'd say go with neither...

Plus, if you are a true fan you would know that to just display the image of the CHARACTER would be to say that you don't fully understand him. As he regards himself as more of a SYMBOL than a character.

I like the second better personally. My advice is to talk to a tattoo artist beforehand and see if you can get their input before deciding.

Pretty much my sentiment. You do need to look at what's feasible and what will last over time. These two particular images could prove problematic with a lesser talented tattoo artist. It's worth pulling a BUNCH of Batman images you really love, talking with a bunch of tat artists who's work you like to see who you click with and find out what is possible and doable and then work with them to come up with something customized. Having something inked pretty much directly out of a comic is akin to pulling flash off the wall and having it put on; it's generic and nothing special, saying nothing about who you are and why you got it done. Having something done custom with your input and ideas will give it more life and meaning in the long run.

Good luck and remember that only *****es whine or bleed when they get inked. :oldrazz:

Whoa, I thought I was a Man, but I don't know how to supress bleeding by sheer force of will.
Like, "I ain't got TIME t' bleed." I guess.
Hmm

Maybe tattoo's are not for you, Wil.

I wanted my entire arms covered in dragon scales when I was younger, but that was when I was lifting weights.

Dragon scales on ho-hum-sized arms would be like lighting a scented candle next to a turd.

I understand. I guess I meant that overly complex with such thin lines etc. can be problematic based on the two images he has. So much of one colour may be a problem if not done well ...
