In the year 2035, a new AR/VR console called Hyperlens, developed by leading tech company Digital Monarch has taken the gaming world by storm. All due to an exclusive game called Hyper Slayers, an Augmented Reality MMORPG or ARMMORPG. Players take on the role of a Slayer, someone that uses magical skills called Divinities to fight Reavers, a race of ogre-like monsters. The Hyperlens had an enormous launch, with millions of people raving about Hyper Slayer. Then a year and a half into the game, reports about Reavers attacks hurting the players began to surface with some players even disappearing. Ben, Parker, Maeve, and Emiko, four of the games top players in Crescent City are brought together by an unknown force to fight back against a threat that’s been released from its centuries old prison.
