Any thoughts/opinions?? I kinda like it .... But I do miss the star(s).

I'm pretty curious as to how they would display this new logo during the opening title sequence for TDKR. Would they have the peeling effect in motion??? I know the current logo shows a rotating star (I think ...)

This also reminds me of when I first saw BB, and I was totally unaware that DC had already changed to their current logo.

It's very sterile. It looks more like the logo of a plastics manufacturing company or something boring like that... but whatever, it's only a logo. It'll probably grow on me.

Besides, I'm getting depressingly used to the idea of my favourite comics company coming up with dumbass, unnecessary ideas.

At first I hated it, but then I saw how it was going to be used (with different themes, colors and such) and then I loved it

Why are they changing the logo again?

there is really no need for a new one. the paint on the current version hasn't even dried yet.

Is this new logo for their comics or their movie division?

its a crappy logo. i could at least ignore it as a logo for DC ENTERTAINMENT. but not for DC COMICS. it is a horrible horrible logo in general, and an even worse logo for comic books.

So what is fold over 'D' supposed to be?

The change has something to do with trademark infringement and DC Shoes. Like, the old new logo was too similar the DC Shoes logo and WB was paying DC Shoes to use the old new logo. Guess they didn't want to do that anymore.

Then why not try something like the circle DC logo instead of the toilet seat?

How on earth did that happen? Considering DC had the circle logo years before DC shoes came into prominence.

Waaht ? This is the first time I have heard about DC Shoes, never heard about them. (nevermind, I found that logo.)

But it still does not look like their old logo.

DC Shoes has a single star next to their C... and apparently they had a case for DC Comics. I would think that the more widespread and recognizable logo would win out... as sometimes happens in these things. In which case, DC Entertainment should have no problems. Guess they wanted to side step any kind of court debacles.

I have a friend who has a trademark/copyright on the globe inside an ecology logo and he nearly had an infringement case with Disney over the Cars 2 World Gran Prix logo.

It looks like a sticker being peeled off or a comic page turning...

You've been under a rock then.

DC Shoes is one of the most popular skate shoes out there.

They're almost as big as Converse. And definitely bigger than Osiris.
