I'm more inclined to think he'll produce it.

The only part of the rumor I believe is that they may be ditching Supergirl. The rumors of Cavill and Snyder coming back I can't see, but I have been wrong before.

I could believe they're ditching super girl and want to reconsider superman. Snyder definitely isn't coming back imo. Cavill i feel has like a 30% chance of returning.

I like the combination of JJ producing and Travis Knight directing.

I still feel like JJ has something planned for Supes, whether as producer or director. It seems like the development on the Supergirl film hit a stall right around the same time WB was courting that JJ/Bad Robot deal last year.

I think Travis knight definitely has the skill to pull off a superman movie. But I wouldn't even begin to guess at what writers would deliver the right story.

Travis Knight is definitely one of my top director choices. And him directing a story by Abrams, Patty Jenkins and Geoff Johns is a realistic team I would trust. I liked Abrams' previous take on Supes; Patty's a Supes fan, and while she'll be too busy with WW to direct, I could see her wanting to contribute to the story; and let's face it, Johns will be involved, lol.

The Captain America screenwriting team of Markus and McFeely said Superman was their dream project to write. I'd give them a shot.

I find that amusing because I was at a Q&A with the Russos where they were asked specifically about whether they'd be interested in taking on Superman, and they (I think it was actually Joe) basically said something to the effect of that old, tired "he's too powerful to be interesting" chestnut. The creative divide that's emerged between Markus/McFeely and The Russos after Endgame has been interesting to me to watch.

But yeah, I'd certainly be on board with Markus and McFeely writing a Supes film.

I would be fine with JJ as long as he never uses that garbage Lex twist. That was Flyby, wasn't it?

It was an early draft of Flyby, not in the later ones.

Eh, after seeing how they handled super strong characters like Hulk and Vision, I give them a hard pass on being involved with Superman thank you.

That's a little different given those characters are a part of an ensemble. And their strength is relative to how big of a role they play. Can't really do that to superman when he's the main character. Look at the justice league cartoon, he got nerfed and sidelined.

Did all the drafts of FlyBy have that stupid Ty-Zor character and a Krypton that never blows up? Because **** that stuff.

Every other character got a pay off moment, Hulk and Vision didn’t , I also didn’t like what they did with Thor. Or Captain Marvel for that matter. I wouldn’t want them near Superman personally.

Yes, that stuff was mandated by Jon Peters. He wanted the saga to be more “Star Wars,” and to have Supes leave Earth to travel to Krypton at the end of the movie to try to save it in sequels. And Abrams wasn’t allowed to use Zod for some reason, so Ty-Zor was a Zod stand-in.

I like the idea of leaving earth though. My favourite superman stories are the ones where he visits like, 1960s versions of alien planets and cultures

Ah yes, Jon Peters. The street-fighting hair stylist.

One thing that can be said of Snyder and Singer in regards to their work on Superman, they aren't Jon Peters, so that's nice.

Eh, I can’t say anything positive about Singer in regards to Superman or as a person. He is a talented director (when he’s actually trying and not disappearing off the set for weeks at a time) but his Superman film was a badly miscast rehash of what we had already seen that had nothing going for it but nostalgia. I’m glad that he’s basically been ousted from Hollywood and if the allegations about him are true then he should be in jail. I hate Jon Peters and I don’t want him anywhere near Superman but as far as I know, he’s never done the kind of disgusting **** that Singer has been accused of so I’d rather have him on set on a Superman movie than Singer.

Their worst writing is definitely Cap's ending. He ends up with Peggy when her nephew was set up to he his romantic partner? **** that. And Hulk... aaaahhhh.

Why not continue what works....Leigh Whannel. A horror director.

Or Mike Flanagan, who I think is one of the best in the business.
