NEW full TRAILER!!!

I'll tell you what The Spirit is about; a masked, middle-class crime-fighter who had seemingly died and returned to fight crime with the blessing of Commissioner Dolan in Central City, where he attracts the most dangrous and sexy femmes fatale and fights eccentric psychopathic criminals and also develops a love relationship with Ellen Dolan.

Pretty much what Miller is doing, I'd say.:cwink:

Yeah, all except the part where you choose to ignore the fact that the relationship with Ellen developed BEFORE the supposed death.

Oh, and the main character trait... the one where he takes a beating, because he chooses to overcome his limitations... not because he is a cartoon character with invincibility.

Yeah, other than those two glaring alterations to the core values of Eisner's ideas, Miller has pretty much maintained um... uh... 55-60% of what the characters are about.

As long as there is fire between the two, that's what matters.

He takes a beating because he is strong-willed, "invincibility" or not. Also, we can't be sure if Jackson's comments were just an expression of sorts.

I'll decide how much percentage he ultimately maintained when I see the film.:cwink:

Hey, you can get all clinical and snooty if you want to, but I thought I was being extremely generous with my high percentage scoring! :hehe:

Maybe they can also make a looney toones' cartoon labeled "The Spirit" in order to cash in with the children, too, and make guest appearences of the coyote and the whole bunch.

Ending "That's all folks".

..well then, I guess you're just going to have to wait and see the movie in order to actually judge it on that.

EDIT

I will also say that so far, like in the comics, Denny Colt gets beaten up badly, gets tied up, there is the exaggerated comical action, the film noir feel, and the suspense.

Highly doubtlful I'll be wathching this film.

The problem with this trailer is that it doesn't really tell you anything about The Spirit or the movie.
