If he looks excellent and ostensibly flawless, why not? Caesar and Thanos have proved the tech is truly capable of bringing these characters to life.

We’ve taken prosthetics and makeup as far as they can. Both methods side by side at their best, CGI is winning that for more complex figures. And it will only get better.

Wouldn’t hurt to mix both. I don’t really care which route they choose as long as it looks good.

Even Thoug I liked a lot Thanos in the Avengers movie, I wouldn't be against a Darkseid made with make-up. Hellnoy wasn't bad in neither of the two versions. And you can cast like Rory McCann as Darkseid and cheat a bit with platforms and perspectives to make him look 7footplus and use someone like Olivier Richters for wider shots and actions scenes.

lol that seems like a lot of work, which is why they'd probably be like **** it, we'll go with CG.

Wouldn't be surprised if after Thanos and Apocalypse there are fewer and fewer big name actors willing to do a big CBM role like Darkseid in heavy make-up rather than mo-cap. Oscar Isaac hilariously makes it sound like an actor's nightmare and I imagine it becoming part of the popular wisdom in Hollywood around what to expect from certain roles.

Yeah, and I mean, in his case, the makeup didn't even look GOOD. So probably if you're an actor, it's like, "Do I really want to sit for hours in a makeup chair and walk around all day sweating my ass off for something that might look like crap anyway?" It's one thing if you're a struggling actor looking for your big break but if you're a seasoned veteran like Isaac, it's probably something you'd want to avoid.

I clicked that video expecting him to be honest but still couch it with the typical Hollywood “but I’m so proud of the movie such a fun cast to work with” or whatever but nope, he just straight up had a bad time :funny:

I think his response probably has a little to do with what has happened to the director of that movie’s reputation

As well you should. Though I still don't understand why Roman Polanski is still respected in Hollywood. Maybe that's finally started to change in the Me Too era but I doubt it.

The X-Men series had a bad habit of ignoring the post credit scenes from the prior movie. But the En Sabah Nur from the DOFP post credit scene looked pretty good! Slap a robe and blue paint on Mr. Isaac and call it a day. And then have him go full Apocalypse and armor up for the finale.

I'd be fine with Darkseid as a CG creation, but I just hope they don't go the New 52 route of literally making him the size of a house. I always felt that missed the point of what made Darkseid imposing and threatening: He doesn't need to be a giant to utterly obliterate you, your army and your planet.

Agreed, I loved that in Final Crisis he nearly destroyed the Multiverse despite barely able to stand.
Darkseid doesn't need to beat you up, instead he'll corrupt your loved ones and have them do it for him.

I'm sort of relieved that the Eternals appear to have uniform costumes that downplay the Jack Kirby wackiness.

Now DuVernay can cut lose here.

Book notoriety/popularity means nada if the adaptation process screws up the character. Signs point to Darkseid making an appearance, and given his status as the big bad of the DC universe, I’m hoping WB doesn’t pull a threepeat of remarkable failures for their most iconic villains.

Darkseid doesn't have the film clout to rebound off a big stage flop on his debut.

Tom Hardy lookalike, Logan Marshall-Green is rumored to be in consideration for Mr. Miracle in New Gods movie.

The new Roman Polanski film just debuted in competition at the Venice Film Festival, it's so obscene that he's allowed to still make high profile movies.

Even though not technically his son...

How awesome and ironic would it be if LMG was Mr. Miracle and...

    Tom Hardy was Darkseid
