Now that Cap and Iron Man are set up for a nice sales increase, the Hulk plan is about to unfold in World War Hulk, Thor is about to relaunch (any comment as to when? - perhaps in time for the big smack down with the Hulk?), The Avengers are set up with three books and doing quite well, Spider-Man is back in black and moving forward, and the big mystery X-event is on the horizon (plus the reemergence of the cosmic characters and a host of other new or re-envisioned concepts that are worthy experiments in the market place) - what plate gets spun next?

What characters do you think you (you being both you personally and Marvel as a whole) need to put the most effort into right now to create and sustain sales and story quality? Or are the characters in such a good place that now is the time to spend more energy than normal on projects like Dark Tower and other means of expanding the base of what Marvel's publishing arm does?

JQ: Dang, some great questions this week. Palefire, there’s something else that I think we need to focus on come this time next year, but it is a year away. Seriously, put this in your calendar, ask me this time next year and I think I’ll be able to talk about it then.
"Magic Q-Ball says: Ask again later."

It sure is great how Joe Q takes time out of his busy schedule to connect and 'share' things with the fans. :o

How is it not his fault that the media spoiled Cap's death when he(Marvel) told the media?????

C'mon! You guys gotta see that the greedy pirate looks like Joey Q, it can't be just me.:D

And, DAMN!, if Agatha HArkness looked like that ol' hag....who the f**k would leave their kids with her?:wow: (I know it's not her, btw.)

so the x-men event is going to decimation: part 2? :down

although, that silvestri cover has got to be the best thing he's done since his return to marvel.

A new X-Event that involves death? Hmm. Never saw that coming.

Also love the post about the Campell-Hero thing. Anyone who has an arguement that puts criticism on fans and not Marvel is a plus. There definately is some nice "groupthink" going on.

My fave?

Also, we know that when a guy like Damon comes on board that they have a previous commitment. It’s not like Damon says to us that if the doody hit the fan he would do his Marvel stuff before Lost. We all understand that Lost is his first and most important commitment, we’re merely borrowing him for a short time.

So, okay, the lateness of ULTIMATE WOLVERINE VS. HULK was completely your doing, and you knew full well that Damon would run late. But you didn't care. You just wanted "another of the cool kids" doing a comic, and you knew damn well it would be a guarenteed Top 10-15 for every issue that sold. If ever there was any statement that proved that the bottom line is all Joe Q cares about, this is it.

It also is a bit unprofessional, though. You should care more about the integrity of the comics and on Marvel customers getting their money's worth. The many, many ways Joe has brushed aside any questions showing fan frustration with this "yet another uncompleted mini by a Hollywood star on Joe's watch" is gaulling that it not only comes from a professional, but The Boss. No wonder no one else at Marvel considers a deadline to be more than a friendly suggestion. And so long as the fans buy, who cares, right?

Which is at least honest. Admit it, Joe. Your time as an artist is officially over. You just care about the benjamins. I guess it happens to all of us once we start pullin' maybe 7 figures.

So what's the Deal on this X-men one shot? Is there any more info?
