I don't understand why everybody thinks he's wearing shorts......
I don't understand why he needs to wear shorts... pants... or whatever they are.
Again, I bring up the question of what is the purpose of clothes? They've only worn clothes in the comics if per se on a mission as a disguise, in winter when it's cold, or in the future ala this:
Notice: No pants.
Besides, the finger tape, elbow and kneepads, belts, and bandanas, the Turtles have always been naked. Not once have we seen their penises in any format (and thank God we haven't unless you count some sicko's cartoon porn).
Their personalities are what embody the characters. Not clothes. Mikey is the hip party dude who is an avid comic book reader, pop-cultural, and a surfer and extreme sports lover. Donatello is the brains of the bunch. Leonardo is the leader and is the more focused and dedicated to his ninjitsu. Raph is the hothead and the rebellious one. Why do you need clothes to bring out those personalities? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I mean I'm fine if Mikey wants to dress as a superhero on a mission or Raph go solo on a mission in biker gear or in a trench coat, but he shouldn't be wearing that all the time.
Maybe they won't wear these clothes through the majority of the movie, but if toys were made and seen with the Turtles wearing clothes then my guess they will have them on 24/7 throughout unless of course April tells them in the end, "You don't need to be human; just be yourselves" and they decide to go naked.
I don't think some of us who are voicing our concerns for this movie should get ridiculed for it. Just saying.
