I get my hopes up everytime I see this thread bumped...
I get my hopes up everytime I see this thread bumped...

It angers me and makes me laugh at the same time that we're seeing ****ing leaked cake toppers before anything official.![]()
It should be just a matter of time now

I did what I could to make these cake toppers look cool, but I didn't have much to work with:

Happens with one film every year. Luckily there isn't all that much traffic in these thread so we'll be able to see the change in real time.
It's like clock work.
What change is that? Even if they started marketing the crap out of this movie tomorrow, it doesn't change the fact that they're doing a terrible job of it today. The only change there will be is "Holy **** where the frick is something official" to "Yay! We finally got something official! [insert opinion here]!"
I think you misunderstood that part of my post. I didn't claim you did.Who said anything about changing the fact?
MoS was marketed far ahead in advance, not sure where that comparison is coming from. And The Wolverine wasn't marketed well at all. Just because it did fine at the box office doesn't mean t couldn't have done a lot better if it were marketed better. With both MoS and Wolverine there were these exact complains about lax marketing, then when it starts up,thee studio goes overboard and no one mentions it anymore. That is, there are no more comments about lack of marketing and thus, 'change' in the going on around here.
Of course there are those that will no doubt keep bringing up what they suspect 'hurt' the film marketing wise(though by that time there will be enough press/buzz to argue otherwise), but those folks will no doubt be the ones that have complained about every single news related item since day one...their really is changing that I suppose.
why do you think GOTG will do fine at the boxoffice?
What is the point of promotion? To raise awareness for a films release, if that films release happens and it's successful than one could easily argue that the promotion did it's task perfectly. Of course everything and anything could be 'better' but that doesn't mean one can assert the title of 'mistake' upon a decision. TDK could have had 'better' trailers, whose to say they were actually poor though. It would be like discussing how bad a film's teaser is, a week before opening and with several full trailers out already.
Considering you were the one that responded to my post initially, I'll restate that my post wasn't talking about whether you 'people' are right or wrong. I pointed to the idea that things would change as they always do in this particular situation, period.I'm just saying even though we won't be talking about this late start much more once something does drop doesn't mean those of us who think this stalling is a mistake are wrong.
