Fantasy New Lord of the Rings movies in the works

Since Christopher Lee is unfortunately no longer with us, I would accept a recast if Patrick Stewart played Saruman in that.
Oh the shenanigans those 3 would have gotten into. 😔

Yeah instead we just have a crummy gollum game lmao

Playlist interview with ‘Lord of the Rings’ writer Philippa Boyens, a member of the brain trust (alongside Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh) responsible for the future of the ‘Rings’ franchise talked about the forthcoming film, ‘The Hunt for Gollum.’ Specifically, she talked about how the film features a prominent role for Aragorn, and they hope to have Viggo Mortensenreturn.

She also explained how ‘The Hunt for Gollum’ is set during ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’ era, shortly before Frodo Baggins leaves the Shire for Rivendell. And it begins with Gandalf sending Aragorn on a quest to find Gollum, who the wizard fears may reveal information about the One Ring to Sauron, so Viggo Mortensen’s appearance is crucial. But will he return?

“Honestly, that’s entirely going to be up to Viggo, collaboratively and we are at a very early stage,” she said. “I’ve spoken to Viggo, Andy [Serkis] has spoken to him, Peter [Jackson] has spoken to him, we’ve all spoken to each other and honestly, I cannot imagine anyone else playing Aragorn, but it will be completely and entirely up to Viggo.”

I hope it's a trilogy starring Gothmog. :o

Easy. Frodo has to leave the Gray Havens cause somehow Sauron has returned. He turns to Gandalf…

Angmar War, or pay the Tolkien Estate an unspeakable amount of money for Quest for the Silmaril, Children of Hurin, and Fall of Gondolin.

On the surface, that's not exactly a ringing endorsement for the anime movie you're promoting one week out from release lmao.

The Lord of the Rings: The Angmar War
The Lord of the Rings: The Oath of Eorl

And if they can convince the Estate...

The Silmarillion: The Flight of the Noldor
The Silmarillion: The Quest for the Silmaril
The Silmarillion: The Children of Hurin
The Silmarillion: The Ruin of Doriath
The Silmarillion: The Fall of Gondolin
The Silmarillion: The War of Wrath

I'd laugh my ass off if WBD beat Amazon to the punch and did a trilogy for the War of the Last Alliance.
