Did anyone see this?

NRAMA: Any info you can give us about the rumored Peter Milligan Namor project? JQ: Sorry, once again, we're a bit too early to discuss the project in detail.

I was looking through last weeks Joe Fridays and came across that. Peter Milligan on the project? That's awesome, he has done some good work for both Marvel and DC. I guess some news will come later on but it's good to see Namor will get his own ongoing.

Thoughts?

I got the first 2/3rds of his series from the 90s for pretty cheap from eBay and I really liked it. Namor is the man, and if he gets a good writer and artist with a good supporting cast of characters, the sky is the limit.

I hope he gets a chance.

That project has been rumored for years, really, years.

No thank you. I like Namor, but he's better as a supporting character. Besides, Milligan's X-Men was atrocious.

Namor rocks. But not hard enough for me to read about him in an ongoing.

I will likely read any Namor Ongoing....hell I liked the last one.....Teen Namor.

I wish it kept going a little longer....I loves me some Namor.

Namor is like Nick Fury and SHIELD; they work better as supporting players.

I got a namor issue from a while back it sucked it wasn't namor at all it was a love story.

I've got faith in Milligan no matter what the guys doing. Great writer.

It could very well be a mini or maxi. For Namor, that seems much more senable to me than an all out ongoing.

Does Namor even have a freaking rogues gallery?

Its greatto see a new ongoing series of Namor, he deserves it. Hopefully he'll get involved in Civil War now.

Yeah, he sure does.

Pretty obscure guys that most comic fans are going to shurg at, but he has been around since the 40's... Guy does have quite a few return villians.

Just not exactly A-List guys.

Absolutely. And some are quite cool;

Attuma
Warlord Krang
LLyra
Tiger Shark
Orca
Dr. Dorcas
Tyrak

Orca is currently appearing in the new Heroes For Hire book, although it's pretty much just a cameo....

For sure, Tiger Shark is really a cool villain.

That was a pretty cool story. But imo, I really want a new series that deals with the Namor we see today. Maybe update his rouges gallery and have really cool adventures under the seas.

Same here. I really liked his past work and it seems him on Namor is really a secret project. When JQ was asked about it, even he stated he's not at liberty to say. I can't wait to see what Milligan has in store and even better who the artist will be.

He's got some pretty cool allies too; Stingray, and Triton (Inhumans)....

I'm sure by the time the movie comes out, we'll have an ongoing Namor book. Let's hope it's with an inspired creative team who has a decent knowledge of continuity....

I'd say the on-going woild probably start sometime in late 07. If not maybe earlier. But I agree, sometime near the movie date sounds good. It's only right to have a new Namor on-going. He's been one of the very first Marvel characters and he's been around for a very long time. I want to see this series done right.

Too bad that all the women in his life tend to die.

True.

But judging by the cover to Civil War # 6, Sue Storm is looking for Namor. It's either she's there for his help, or Marvel wants to try out their affection for eachother back in the day.

I have it on good authority that Sue Richards, in fact, has a tatoo of Namor's trident on her right butt-cheek.

Imperius Rex, baby! :word: :woot:
