New Poster

in defense of the posters

1) spidey's leg position different in the reflection
well obviously it's not a 'perfect' reflection otherwise the colours of the costume would match as would the logo on his back as well, the 'reflection' is in peter's mind, hence liberties with spidey's posture in the reflection.

2. green/yellow tint
I actually think it is a lenticolour poster, you'd hope if sony were going for a 'nightmarish' effect they'd do more than just add green :whatever:
the anatomy is not right. do you get it? its like giving him a third arm. it would not look right.
the anatomy.

the anatomy.

I don't think the sony would have hired someone to dress in the spidey outfit only to photoshop his legs in an odd position. the photo is obviously a guy in a suit rather than cg so how can his anatomy be wrong?

get a friend and a camera and I bet he can position himself to match the position spidey takes in the photo.

you mean the webbing is thiner? the symbiote suit is correct plus the texture is 100% the same.
No, the individual "squares" made by the webbing are larger in area. It is most evidennt in the pic of Parker trying to rip the costume off in the bell tower, when he is bent over and pulling the back of the mask off. The pattern of the squares across his back is larger than in the 1st trailer.
Secondly, someone a few pages back marked the impossible anatomy of the red and blue thing on the right in the first poster. Both of his legs are coming from the left side of his body. I'll go back and try to get the picture.

I would like to see that pic. I may be proven wrong, but I say the position is impossible.

This is the pic I am talking about. I don't see how this position is possible, and look at the terrible photoshop of the red and blue thing's lower legs.
We need to quit fawning over every scrap we get from the studio as if it is some sort of golden egg. This is terrible. There's really no excuse for work like this to come from the studio.

No, the reflection is obviously not a guy in a suit. It seems like the legs belong to another guy altogether, it's that bad. NO ONE could assume that position. No one. Except maybe T-1000...

Precisely. I'm generally positive about the film and its promotion, but this is just waaay too sloppy.

Yes, you can take liberties with posture, but not human anatomy.

Right, the legs do seem to be a mirror of the legs of the black thing, but when the torso was repositioned, no one made the right adjustments. The torso was just slapped on the legs.
It looks like a photo was taken of the black thing, and the red and blue thing was manipulated from there.
This poster also makes me wonder if the black Spidey will be noticably more muscular than his red and blue version...

Edit: do you think that people from the studios visit these boards? and if so, do you think someone will get their @55 ripped on Monday for such lousy work? I can see someone's weekend really taking a dive over this...

For god sakes get over it, it's just a poster. It's not the end of the world.

I am simply trying to bring a balance to the fanboys who gush "Oh mah gawd, teh poster is teh best evar!!!"

THe simple fact is the poster is sloppy, amateurish work.

If the fanboys treated it as that, "just a poster" I wouldn't be so cranked up about it.

Ok you guys over analyze this way too freakin much. I didn't even notice the faults until it was pointed out. It's a very nice poster, not perfect, but in my mind it clearly does the job.

Also, it is NOT supposed to be a direct reflection, because they are both looking at the same direction down and out. The "actual" one is looking down forward, and the "mirror" one is looking over his back towards the same postion. It is NOT supposed to be a direct reflection.

Yeah, Spider-Man fans have become annoying so-called perfectionists. His boot is too small, his head is too big, he has too many toes, where's his ears? Sony the one with the multi-billion dollar franchise, now all of a sudden, these fools think that they need their approval in marketing...hilarious. :o

Again, all I am trying to say is that to fall over yourself to say a poster is great when there are FUNDAMENTAL flaws in the human anatomy of the person in the poster is kinda stupid. I didn't mention ears, toes, his head or his boots. I simply said that both legs are coming from the left side of his body. I don't think pointing out that he has two left legs is being a perfectionist.
"Defense of the absurd, in the face of the facts, is in itself absurd".

nah, i think the anatomy is correct. only spidermans reflection was zoomend, it´s a liitle bigger than black spidey, thats why it seems off. but really i don´t mind

Your kidding, right?
you don't see the circled area to see that both legs are on the left side of his body?
