Don't expect any hook ups or romance in this show. Marvel animation don't do that anymore since Disney bought Marvel.Apparently kids can't handle it.
But that's more Marvel Animation than Disney.
Disney's other animated shows like Gravity Falls had no problem bringing up animated romance at all.

So kids going soft. What the *** is happening on this world. In what kind of balloon is next generation gonna live. Soft. Just S-O-F-T.

Damn if If my kids wont be raised on Predator, Terminator, Alien, Commando and Gargoyles, BTAS etc. hell I'll put in my prenup.

What do you expect when we live in the same generation as those parents who filed serious complaints to Disney/Pixar because the Cars 3 teaser was "too dark for their children" smh

Romance has nothing with being soft Marvel just wants to makert the show to little boys and they think little boys wouldn't like it.

you mean little girls. those are not boys

boys were never this soft.

I'm not sure dating and romance are a thing to determine if little boys are soft or not...
Actually you seem to be string this conversation in different path...

I like the art in the style guide. I'm fine with Miles and Spider-Gwen being in it, as long as it doesn't get too extreme like USM did.

The days of Spiderman having a proper solo show are long gone apparently. Marvel won't rest until they make Miles and Spider Gwen a thing.

What do you mean by 'proper solo show?'

I agree with this. The character design looks excellent. And USM, took everything to the extreme...in a bad way. No, the worst way. Thank goodness it is finally coming to an end.

Miles and Gwen aren't an issue- and at this stage when so little is known they really shouldn't be a problem.

The issue isn't any one character, it's more about complex storytelling done in a way kids can grasps and parents can appreciate it. If the stories are solid and they do a worthy interpretation of Spidey then all fans will embrace.

To automatically find fault w/things and doom the project right out of the gates without first seeing their vision first play out doesn't fair. With that said I get those who lost hope at this point about ever getting a quality SPidey toon- at some point it's going to click again, just a matter of time.

If they don't get it right this time as long as they make noticeable strides from their last effort then that's at least something...

Marvel shows from the 90s up till Avengers emh has always had romance. So what has changed now. Those shows also targeted little boys. They have gone beyond soft and dumbed down every thing. They only care about merchandising not the writing. Marvel animation needs a reboot so badly.

A proper solo show with no forced and pointless team ups for the majority of the shows run. You know like every Spiderman show outside of Amazing Friends and the awful Ultimate Spiderman.

I am so sick of alternate Spidermen. The original losses his appeal and uniqueness.

Maybe this Spiderman show is the first show in a rebooted animated-verse. With Marvel showing more ambition in games with SMPS4, it could be that they want to improve their cartoons as well

Ahh, ok. In that case, I agree with you. Having team ups or guest appearances is not a bad thing imo but when they're forced or used and are a distraction from the main event, then it's an issue. I hope that's not how it goes with the new show but with Wacker and Slott involved I wouldn't put it past them.

The funny thing is this is the reboot.
I don't mind the lack of romance, a lot of it feels stressful to watch.

Totally agree.

Starting to lose interest in this show.

And I do not get the appeal of Spider-Gwen. It's like some fan fic.

I feel like a lot of these alternate versions of Spider-Man exist just for diversity. Which isn't surprising coming from Dan Slott.

But Dan Slott didn't create Spider-Gwen or Miles...

:gg: "Back to formula"

That musical stinger right after that. :gg: "I... don't remember."

Totally agree.

Spider-Gwen's appeal comes from a kickass costume and a really well-written (for the most part) series.

That said, she has no business in teen Peter Parker's TV show IMO.

I'll give this a couple of episodes, but them bringing Gwen and Miles in so early causes some trepidation. It can be done, I'm sure, but I have no confidence in the Marvel animation department.

I wouldn't be surprised if Spider-Gwen ends up getting her own animated movie spinoff.

^ I would actually love for that to happen.

I recently saw this on toonzone. It's a style guide for the show apparently.

Not a fan of the idea of a team-up show. Either make it all about Peter or don't, simple as that. The artstyle is really cool though, I like it.
