Homecoming New Spider-Man animated series coming in 2017

All this interview really confirmed is that the animation will be stylistically different from USM and the storytelling is different cause they're starting from the origin. Otherwise, I can't help but feel this will just be a spiritual successor to USM. Not a good thing imo.

Add in the marketing blatantly spelling out, "TEAM UP!" and loads of stuff with Miles and Spider-Gwen and it'll be just that -- a spiritual successor to USM with less characters for Spider-Man to team up with.

RIP solo Spider-Man cartoons and films.

The fact that it's Miles & Spider-Gwen (two characters I like) I guess, makes me feel more at ease. I think the idea of Spider-people teaming up is an interesting idea that I liked in Spider-Verse.At least they're not forcing Iron Man or Nova/Tiger/Cage/Rand on us.

I'm glad it does for you, but more team-ups (after an entire show dedicated to 'em) and Slott being a consultant and having influence over the show does not sit well with me at all.

It's a shame when I think that the only thing in 2017 that really has me completely in terms of Spider-Man is Renew Your Vows.

Slott being involved is worrisome for sure, but I'm hoping he keeps a hands-off approach to this series. And dude, that sucks, this show might surprise you. People always tell me why I don't have an open mind going into Homecoming but unlike that movie, the core of the character is not under attack. As far as we know, Peter has just gotten his powers after the spider-bite, Uncle Ben exists and has already died. (you bet we'll see flashbacks) and there's been no mention of a billionaire taking him under his wing. I guess when the core is intact, I'm more open-minded to new things.

I thought he was just consulting.
The real MVP's are the Ugly Americans/MAD/Robot Chicken writer (since he's the story editor and a supervising producer) and this other writer for TF Prime/Brave and the Bold/Generator Rex/TF Animated/list goes on (since she's another supervising producer)

Horizon High is a thing because of him as is Max Modell being a teacher. He has some imput in the show.

Sure, but wouldn't that be the equivalent of him spitballing ideas at the showmakers.
Don't they ultimately decide on what works and how to make said ideas work?

He's good friends with one of the showmakers IIRC, and they're the ones that decided to include his material in their show, so..

Friendly reminder: He's a consulting producer.

I believe so.

Edit: Philip Pignotti, director behind both Avengers Assemble and USM.

The core of the character is being attacked in homecoming? How? Uncle Ben lives in the mcu . Nobody wanted to see an origin story again. I'd rather have spider man have a little help from stark then a have a power rangers type team up. That takes the uniqueness out of the character. Now they're two spidermen walking around and a girl named spider Gwen.

That's actually worse than tony stark helping spiderman. I don't want to to see a spider team against venom I want to see Spider-Man against venom. But hey .

I prefer other Spider-people teaming up with Spidey (which is a unique idea) over Tony Stark the billionaire playboy genius being heavily involved in his life, giving him High-tech, giving him grants, (when the whole point is Peter comes from a blue-collar family where things were NEVER made easy for them) flirting with his Aunt May while still trying to play mentor to him (when Stan Lee wanted him to be someone who had no adult to call on for his problems) That's the core of character that they're slowly losing. But to each their own.

Also we don't know if Uncle Ben exists as it stands right now. You assume he does because Peter gave a variation of the "With Great Power" speech. But he never mentioned Ben so it's still up in the air.

Sonic Boom is a fun cartoon, so I guess that means there is hope for it yet?

:hehe:

I'll give it to 'different strokes for different folks'.
It'd be an understatement to say I was hyped for that after seeing the new designs and the first clip from the show.

I somehow have more hope for this, but also more reservations.

The new designs almost turned me off, especially Knuckles.

Fire and ice is a decent game. It may not be groundbreaking, but its not a bad entry into the series either. I admit Sonic has had some bad games, but the unnecessary hate kind of bothers me.

Why even make that assumption? They weren't gonna reveal uncle Ben just yet. It was obvious Spider-Man was talking about uncle Ben. Pretty obvious. So he gets a little help from stark and that's losing the core? He even seems to be getting sick of stark judging from the trailer. Sure he accepts help at first but it seems like he doesn't like being treated like a second wheel.

So you rather have multiple spidermen running around the city that destroy the uniqueness of the character and make him part of some "super group" then stark giving him some help? Ok.

The hate comes from Mario fans who know that sonic is better. I mean come on. Mario is such a bland and boring character but yet he always gets a pass. Not to mention he's a walking stereotype

I blame IGN honestly. The whole "Sonic was never good." There have really only been two bad Sonic games, and one of those wen't even made by the Sonic team.
