I blame IGN honestly. The whole "Sonic was never good." There have really only been two bad Sonic games, and one of those wen't even made by the Sonic team.

Oh, there have been more than two bad Sonic games...

Which is a lie. Sonic was the 90s most popular game character and had better games than Mario. Now the only bad games I'd say are bad are sonic06 ,werehog sonic unleashed and the boom games. If you think about it everything else is solid. Not perfection but solid. It's like people want sonic to be perfect down to a t with his games now.

Not counting spin offs. If that was the case, the same could be said about Mario or a handful of games

Lost World is competently made, but dull, same with Sonic 4, Sonic Heroes has awful controls, same with Secret Rings, which IS referenced in Generations, so hardly a spin off, and both Adventure games are at best decent Sonic games, but bad video games that haven't aged well. A competent 3D title would be Colors or Generations.

Finally saw the finishing arc of Ultimate Spider-Man, and I have to say I won't miss the 4th wall breaking, Drake Bell's voice as Spidey, the overuse of the word team (which, I got the feeling we won't escape it just yet), and the annoying repetition and overuse of the word 'ULTIMATE'.
One thing I'll miss for certain for certain is seeing an established grown Spider-Man, closer to being a mature adult.

Ultimate grew up?

Yeah.
[blackout]He graduated high school in season 3, and finished Trapster in 3.4 seconds[/blackout].
I think I might need to check out season 3, I tuned out after the first 8 episodes or so. I'm guessing he still acts the same

[blackout]He shaped up his act pretty well, for the most part.
He maintained some of this takes signature arrogance, in small doses.[/blackout]

Cant wait to see who voices the new Peter.

No wikipedia page for the show yet.
I thought this was supposed to have one by now.

One of the worst parts of the show was the annoying over-the-top Spidey. But you're right, he seems to be toned down & a lot more serious in S3 just looking at clips.

Good rule of thumb is to avoid the one-and-done episodes, though by the looks of it, they just overloaded one arc after another the further you get into the show. Entirely just me, it feels like watching Captain Planet :oldrazz:

USM is done. Well lets hope Marvel can satisfy fans with this without making it too kid friendly and immature.

Hopefully , it's only a temporary thing. And he said he wanted to do SSM later down the line.

considering those are two major Dan Slott stories, I wonder which other arcs of his will be adapted in the cartoon. (I liked Big Time & Ends of the Earth, so those would be cool for me to see personally. However, garbage like the Alpha storyline should never see the light of day)

As far as Superior Spider-Man, it was cool for the first few issues. The main problems were that it went on too long and most supporting characters/guest characters were dumbed down to prevent them figuring out something was seriously wrong with Peter. If they can iron those issues out, then maybe a 2/3 episode special could be pretty dope

I have like zero interest in ever seeing Spider Island tho.

Sidenote: I'm expecting Slott's awful villain (The Regent) to be a major villain in this given his love for him and his involvement in the show

One thing you can definitely be sure of. Mary Jane either won't be included at all, or worse; she'll be portrayed as a self-centered and passive aggressive bI#ch who constantly guilts Peter and makes him feel bad about himself.

I loved Spider-Island, but I think a lot of what made it so good (again IMO) was the established continuity and backstory. If you knew and appreciated it, that made the read so much better.

I think it will be much less impactful as a cartoon featuring a young Spider-Man, but there's definitely potential.

Also the concept of Superior was good IMO (and probably the last thing Slott wrote that I've enjoyed, at least for some time) and could be really interesting with a teen Peter instead of the more independent adult!
