So at this part it's animated like he hits a wall, but the backdrop is more scenic....what?

Anyways, I like the character designs and the energy. Spidey sounds a little irritating. But I'm into it more than USM already.

Yeah that was weird, what's with modern animation these days? I'm aware that older cartoons had animation issues too but they never seemed this obvious. Eh maybe I just have nostalgia goggles on.

It looks like a run of the mill modern Marvel cartoon to me so nothing surprising there. Will keep an eye on it but my hopes are still not high.

I already see a vast improvement over Ultimate Spidey which I absolutely despise. It may not quite match SSM based on this one clip but at least I am looking forward to it for now.

Good Riddance to that Ultimate rubbish........

It's as if we're back in the 90's.

The budget is not there. I have been told most of Disney's other stuff is made overseas, whilst Marvel keeps doing it in-house.

I hate to say, I'm severely disappointed by how this looks to be turning out. Ugh, this is very, very underwhelming. I expected the animation to be beautiful. What happened to those concept art pics that got released? I thought that was going to be the style. This doesn't look like it's going to turn out to be great. I was really hoping we'd get something memorable to replace Ultimate Spider-Man. Guess I may have to keep waiting.

Overall, I'm not impressed. I'll just keep watching the 90's show/Spectacular.

Which, for anyone who hasn't watched the animated series in a while, it still holds up well to this day. Those are the definitive versions for me since that's what I grew up on. Just watched the "Cat" episode. Such a great trip down memory lane.

“The series tells the story of an unsure but courageous teen who has to figure out how to be a super hero from the very beginning. “

I'm giving it a shot.

I kinda forgot about this until I saw the preview. Seems pretty meh so far, but I'll probably at least check it out.

Peter though..... Yikes
Looks like they tried to replicate Holland in animated form. With Uncle Ben cast, I think/hope they're telling the origin story since it's the very beginning. We've never really seen the origin in real time since the 60s show

Sorta does look like a young version of the 90s Peter

Overall, from most of the reactions I've seen online I feel like the only one actually looking forward to this :funny:

Eh, personally I wouldn't want to have to see the origin story in real time again, but if you'd wanna see it more power to you . Personally I'm okay with him being in flashbacks or acting as Peter's conscience occasionally

just a pretty bad clip, imo

Back-to-basics with the supervising producers involved means I can still hope for the best

It reminds me of internet cartoons from like 10 years ago

How did they go from the glorious art work to this hot garbage? Whatever, I still have the movies and games to be excited about

The animation seems pretty smooth and the dialogues and jokes are way better than in USM. I wish the background was a little more detailed though.

So it's set in a different universe than Avengers Assemble.

I'm trying to temper excitement because I know it'll be taking quite a bit of elements from Slott's run (which I really dislike) and it'll have both Miles and Spider-Gwen popping up at some point.

Have to agree with most of you in not being impressed with the clip. I will give it a chance, but I think we have been spoiled by Spectacular Spider-Man.

Yeesh, forgot about the Spider Rangers thing for a second there, & Slott inspiration is almost always a no-no (iirc there's gonna be a Spider Island arc). Anyways, I think I'm interested in this because since they announced that USM was ending and there'd be a new series beginning I knew it wasn't going to be Spectacular or TAS level, it being a Disney XD show and all. I knew it wasn't gonna be a show that would seriously hook me like the aforementioned, so I didn't anticipate anything like that. I just wanted a semi enjoyable Spider-Man cartoon that I could watch with my kid brother that didn't have a protagonist that grated on my nerves. The clip, while lackluster in certain aspects at least seemed like something I'd watch for fun (kinda like how I treated the short lived Spidey comics).

True. We're not gonna get 90s Batman/TSSM/X-Men level cartoons from the big two these days.

Fair, dude! I'll be checking it out as well and hope it's at least decent.

Anything's better than USM (which unfortunately could've had cool ideas if they weren't executed so terribly).
