Just redo Voyager with a good pilot where they are forced to stay in the Delta Quadrant and the Captain is not just deciding to stay because "eff the crew, I just decided we are going to stay to put more time on the Ocampa vs kaezon clock."
Let them forge a new federation there. Not a perfect one but a rough one with betrayals, hard choices, conflict, and a struggle for survival. A little bit of Game of Thrones in space.
A bit of a spin on the stuff DS9 did: how do our ideals hold up in a bad situation.
Well maybe thats just me, because with Voyager this franchise started to suck imho so this is the perfect spot to redo it and take a risk for once.
