Syfy isn't exactly Fox. This is one of their big pushes for going back to old school Scifi Channel. I think it is a safe bet for getting a second season. They are allowing 13 Monkeys to finish out next season.

Besides, it's when you get to Season 4 is when Syfy begins to screw you.
