While I agree that the Dark Knight is ridiculously overhyped, this teaser poster is awful. You have no clue what movie it's for. I'm betting non-Punisher fans think it's a mushroom cloud or a mushroom of some sort.

I don't believe this is a sequel. It's much more of a reboot for the franchise, like The Incredible Hulk.

That poster is totally awesome. A shot of Frank would be cool, and i'm sure they'll come out, but I love this teaser. A skull of bullet holes is just badass

I like this teaser poster,it is refreshing for a Punisher movie poster if you think about it IMO. It isn't just a pic of a skull,it's a pic of bullet holes that make up a skull.

isn't it cliche in general, yet remains to be done for most superhero movies? like the aforementioned dark knight/joker poster, and even this one...

not all cliches are bad. when you have an iconic logo at your disposal, you might as well use it and make it interesting.

i think that's pretty recognizable to most people, even general movie-goers, as the punisher skull. dude, what's this mushroom movie?! nah, i don't think so. and then there's the little marvel logo that's a dead giveaway. the skull works, i think the punisher and the skull are probably in the top five most recognizable marvel characters/icons.
