Who do you think that should write the scripts for the rest of the movies in this franchise? I'm interested in hearing opinions. You can also post your thoughts on the current writers.

Same writers, because there is nothing wrong with scripts. Problem is editing and deleting important scenes which makes film worse then it is. Teekay say he liked more "rough copy" then released version. It seems same problem with TASM also. That's says something.

Matthew Vaughn. I'm serious here- Kick-Ass had a Peter Parker...just kinda one who cusses and is violent lol.

X-Men was a blast, so if he could do something by mixing the two, he'd make a great CBM.

That's what i was thinking. I'm actually a fan of their work despite what most people think of them.

Why would they go out and get new writers when they already have a very competent writing team already under contract?

It was just a hypothetical question. As i said, i'm actually a fan of their work.

Okay. :) I was just asking the question to see what your thought process was.

Playing along with the hypothetical, I think Jonah Nolan and Greg Berlanti would be good choices.

Jonathan Nolan is quite good, but i don't know about Greg Berlanti. He did write Green Lantern and Wrath of the Titans. And Jonathan Nolan seems to be at his best when he co-writes with his brother.

Berlanti co-created Arrow and its pending Flash spinoff, and, IMO, his heavy involvement in the story planning for Arrow is one of the things that has made it such a hit.

I also wouldn't mind seeing Maurissa Tancharoen and her husband Jed Whedon tackle the Spidey-verse, or even her brother Kevin Tancharoen.

True. But that's the thing with writers that write screenplays for movies. One moment they can give you a masterpiece and the next an abomination. It's a hit or miss with most of them imo.

Haven't seen TASM2 yet, but if people aren't that impressed by Kurtzman, Orci, and Pinkner's script, how about bringing in Drew Goddard, since he's involved with the Sinister 6 movie?

Too late. They are already writing TASM 3's script.

The writing team may be a good team, but I certainly wouldn't blame the studio if they started shopping around for the next sequel. The script for TASM2 was definitely one of its weakest points.

The cast and crew were praising the script and maybe that's kind of their job but I believe Andrew when says stuff like that cause imo he comes across as incredibly genuine. Maybe the initial script was really good and it's once again the editing that has caused problems for the movie? Lawd, I really need to see this movie, lol.

Marti Noxon
Joss Whedon
Neustadter and Weber
Those are all completely unlikely but I'd love a script written by any of those.

What do you mean by "shopping around"?

Yeah and they seemed pretty genuine to me too. Though on seeing the film I can't help but wonder where they're coming from myself.

Thanks for the explanation.

Apologies for the confusion. Yeah, I just meant what those guys said.

Going by what most reviewers say, i can't believe how unlucky we have been in this area. The first movie had script problems, then Sony hired new screenwriters and the new movie still has script problems. I know it's not easy to write a script, but it's been two movies in a row now and we still haven't gotten a solid script. Again, i'm going by what the reviewers and members here in the Hype are saying.

ASM's script was fine, editing was the problem. As for ASM2 it's too early to say but while there was a few problems I did feel it was the best thus far, though they did have four films to learn from.

I think there should be a new set of writers with each installment but have JV or Ocri and Ku (what's his name?) polish it up to keep it consistant.

Jeff Pinker, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. I was thinking about that, actually. Maybe the theatrical version of the film doesn't quite represent their work due to the editing. Teekay did praise them quite a bit after he saw the original cut.

My main gripe was the inconsistancy. Dillon had a few campy scenes and Kafka had a bad accent. Too early to see ASM2's reaction but that was my gripe with the film. They handled the multiple stories well IMO so for the eventual Sinister Six film then I'd say they would do a good job.
