New York City "bans" Overly Large Drinks.

I don't foresee this law lasting. It will get petitioned and destroyed in referendum.

Pretty sure there's more fanatic cigarette smokers than soft-drink guzzlers and that didn't help them overturn the smoking-in-bar ban (and now that's pretty much global).
 
You know, this is a really bad thing because if you ever need to supply anyone with a decent urine sample just drinking a big gulp sized beverage aids that sufficiently.

It's better to drink water in that type of situation.

There's a difference though. Smoking is disgusting and affects the people nearby through second-hand smoke. The only person affected by having a large soda is whoever is drinking it.

Exactly. People fought the smoking ban, but there were just as many people who were fine with it because they hated having to deal with the secondhand smoke. I've heard more people happy that it's not allowed in the bars and restaurants anymore than I've heard complain about it.
